"Excellent product, did everything with flying colors!!"
Before choosing to purchase this product, I downloaded and tried about 8 others. None of the others even came close to the features and flexibility of this product.
--->The main thing I was looking for was a program that would do motion effects. A motion effect is the ability of the program to vary the view of the picture being shown. Common motion effects are zooming in, zooming out, panning in any direction, and even rotating the picture. When you see a still frame slide show and then a motion frame slide show, the motion one looks so much better. For instance, if you were showing a picture of a group of people, and you wanted to highlight one, you simply show the group as a wide shot, and then zoom in close to the one you want. Or zoom out - this program will do either. You choose the view you want to start with, then the view you want to end with. You can vary the way the motion is carried out (accelerate, decelerate, linear or smooth). You can even have the program apply random motion effects to all slides.
--->This program was the only one I found that allowed this much control. Most programs did not do motion, and though other did have the motion effects, none but ProShow Gold would allow you to choose the start and the finish view.
--->The audio synching features are excellent. Not to mention the incredible number of output methods. You can play it directly from the software; you can create a DVD for any DVD player, with a menu system and everything, (and a built in PC slide show); a Video CD, an mpg video, a web show (if you have your own internet space), a web show using the company"s web space (they say it"s free, if you purchase the software), an autorun CD for PC use, an executable file, even a screen saver. There are 280 transition effects to change between slides, and even a built-in CD ripping feature. The layout of the program is very logical and easy to use; I did not find anything I wanted to do with my slide show that this program could not handle.
When entering the program, or saving a show, there was nothing to let you know that the program was busy. My slide show was 160 slides, 30 minutes long, and it took a couple of minutes to save sometimes. There was no indication that the program had not simply locked up when I went to save (causing me much nervousness), but thankfully I waited for it to do its thing, and the program didn't crash. Just be aware.
Also, there were a few lockups. But due to the autosave feature, I never lost any data.
