"Ignore spoiler reviews by so called software engineers"
Version: Privatefirewall 7.0.27.1
Pros
Easy to setup and use. Right click on things in Port Tracking etc is good.
Cons
Would like the option to right click on an entry in the log and it take you to Whois etc.
Summary
I'm no software engineer but I can setup PrivateFirewall without any problems at all. I've been using it for quite some time now and I've never had it crash whilst playing online games like I have some of the supposedly better ones, comodo for example.

"1 hour of my life gone"
Version: Privatefirewall 7.0.27.1
Pros
You might say a Pro is that it's free, but when I get something worthless for free I call that trash.
Cons
I'm a very experienced software engineer with a lot of experience in networking and couldn't get this thing to work after an hour playing with it.
It's not clear how 'processes' and 'applications' are related.
It's not clear how the different 'rules' you can add in different areas effect security nor how they relate to the different 'levels' you can set in several places.
Finally, the logging was simply missing a lot of information and much of the info it did have was incorrect.Summary
Only functionality I got out of this thing was to completely block all traffic or completely allow all traffic.

"Look elsewhere - MS Essentials."
Version: Privatefirewall 7.0.27.1
Pros
Free download, easy install. Easy uninstall immediately reconnected my laptop to my home network.
Cons
Disabled the DNS server connection on my laptop. I don't need a firewall if I cannot access the internet at all! If I'd wanted this level of network (dis-)connectivity, I'd have bought a Mac.
Summary
Download Microsoft's Essentials pack - better name, better program, and no connectivity issues.

"Free! Solid! Protects! Set it and forget it!"
Version: Privatefirewall 7.0.27.1
Pros
Easy to set-up. Simple to use.
Cons
None here.
Summary
Used Online Armor Free until a friend recommended Private Firewall. I am now a very satisfied user. Private Firewall (PF) is simple to set-up and runs quietly in the background. And doesn't slow down my computer. The GUI is easy to navigate and pretty much straight forward. Read the many reviews and decided that PF is a good choice. If you want something better than Windows Firewall give Private Firewall a try. I highly recommend it.

"An advanced firewall - not for the novice."
Version: Privatefirewall 7.0.27.1
Pros
I love it. Never a fan of OS inbuilt / ISP pushed security bundled products I have been searching for something. Anti-Virus and a decent Firewall. My Pro for this is and why I rate it very highly is due to the fact I can see what's going on (in-bound / outbound) and control the rules. It's a free firewall for those who like to lift the lid a little and see who is knocking on your door & trying to get in. I liked it so much I thought I may even pay the freeware licence - but no this is yours (Gratis) - I recommend.
Cons
No cons - other than a lack of cut or export from the firewall log.
The Internet is a dangerous place, this is only for an experienced person with knowledge in operating systems, networking & the fabric of internet. If you don't know what an IP or MAC address is a TCP Port or a PID - This is not for you - if you do then it is.Summary
The freedom to view, analyse inbound & outbound network traffic from network - OS and applications. The control to create your own rules & Allow / Block IP's, URL's, ports etc. Has a learning mode which is very useful for transporting onto a new build. And yes for free. A great product.

"Excellent firewall"
Version: Privatefirewall 7.0.27.1
Pros
Everything about it I like, it works well and does what it says it will do. I have had no problem with this software at all. it is a good strong firewall.
Cons
None that I can think of at this time
Summary
This is a good free firewall and I do not think you can do better with any other, paid or not.

"One of the Best Free Firewalls"
Version: Privatefirewall 7.0.27.1
Pros
Stealths your computer
Cons
I does not seem to remember the updates. Every udate it requests requires removing "old" version and reinstalling new version and rebooting. It frequently wants to be uodated. I removed it for this annoying reason.
