    "works simply and simply works"

    February 12, 2012  |   By nomdeplumeindenver

    Version: Printopia 2.1

    Pros

    Easy Install
    Instantly works
quickly finds anything you want to print to
can print to specific software on your mac (i.e. adobe reader)
found every printer on my mac in a flash
    lightning fast routing and printing
    dropbox function is awesome
    Price is fair and reasonable

    Cons

Can't think of any (see minor annoyance below)

    Summary

The interface for the free trial is a little tricky and I ended up just buying this outright because the reviews were so good. This is no complaint about the software at all- It just annoys me when designers make it more difficult to do the trial and easier to send you straight to buy. Aside from this minor peeve on principle- this thing is worth the $$ and I have no regrets. It worked so fast and easy I didn't realize it was set up and ready to fly already. If you want the ease of printing from your iphone or ipad to your printer or mac, this app rocks.

It does bum me out to see from other reviews that customer support is non-existant if you need it. Not fun to feel like you just need to cross your fingers

    "Outstanding product!"

    February 7, 2012  |   By parot161

    Version: Printopia 2.1

    Pros

    * Installed easily
    * Found my networked printer
    * Worked like a charm

    Cons

    * Does not give me access to all of the print options that a regular laptop or desktop Mac does, but it's great for basic print jobs.

    Summary

    Well worth the money.

    February 4, 2012  |   By kcrumb

    Version: Printopia 2.1

    Pros

EASY!! And it works just as promised

    Cons

a bit pricey...may be worth the convenience though

    Summary

Couldn't have been easier....and the app works flawlessly from iPhone and iPad through my iMac. Highly recommend to those that need iOS printing. Just don't understand why Apple doesn't provide this....love Apple, but pretty weak...

"Drop dead simple, works like a charm"

    January 10, 2012  |   By jimafrost

    Version: Printopia 2.1

    Pros

    Works great.

System Preferences control is very straightforward.

You can try before you buy.

    Cons

Bonjour doesn't work with some complex network configurations, but these are unlikely in consumer situations.

Would be nice if there were a Windows version for those Mac-less networks.

    Summary

I already knew from other people that this product worked well, so I skipped the demo and gave them my money. The software comes as a zip file that includes documentation which is more than sufficient plus an installer app. Run the app and it installs a Printopia System Preferences panel neat-as-you-please.

The Printopia panel is very straightforward, giving you the ability to allow or deny any of the printers the Mac knows about, a couple of more esoteric options that almost no one will care about, and a really big on/off switch. After installation it was already configured to support all of my printers and the iPad app printed perfectly on the first try. In the Apple tradition It Just Worked.

I know a bit about what Printopia is doing behind the scenes, and as a result I think the product is a little bit pricey for what they needed to do to make it work, but it's hard to argue too much with $20 for a beautifully polished solution versus either the free-but-annoying hacker solution or the ridiculous official Apple policy of going out and buying new printers. Apple should be ashamed for not doing this themselves. Until they do, I highly recommend Printopia.

    "Why can't Apple do this?"

    October 21, 2011  |   By andrewrm

    Version: Printopia 2.1

    Pros

30 second install and start printing!

    Cons

    Pricey for an iOS app.

    Summary

This should be baked into iOS/MacOSX.

    "NO customer support"

    July 22, 2011  |   By cdgd

    Version: Printopia 2.1

    Pros

None. Hasn't worked and cannot get any response from Printopia.

    Cons

Hasn't worked and cannot get any response from Printopia. It even took my connection from my Mac to the printer and disabled it. Now I can't print from the computer or Ipad.

    Summary

If it works it would be great. Don't expect any help from Printopia.
