In the event of a power loss, PowerPanel ® Personal Edition software automatically saves your files and safely shuts down your computer. Shows the amount of watts your computer is using and other useful information.
Cons
None. Works well.
Summary
These types of units are not made to run your computer for hours on battery power. There job is to safely shut down and automatically save your files and stop operating system corruption.

Easy to set up, constant monitoring, never a problem!
Cons
A little disappointed in the hardware - CyberPower 625VA. Advertises power time of up to 45 minutes. It has eight outlets, 4 surge protect only, 4 surge/battery power. I have 2 in surge/battery, and am using all 4 plugs for surge protection. My lowest battery life time has been 4 minutes (ugh!), best has been maybe 28. Disappointing.
Summary
The software is great. Don't really know how the hardware stacks up against other manufacturers products, but I'm disappointed in CyberPower's product.

Sometimes doesn't connect to PC via USB for 10s of minutes after booting the PC, sometimes instant.

It works well and maintains my system during power outages.
Cons
None. It is much better than my previous battery backups.
Summary
I have been very pleased with this unit. It keeps things running during power outages and runs very nicely cool, implying low idle power draw.
Compared to the APC unit that I had preivously, this one runs much cooler and therefore must ahve a substancially lower idle power requirement. It seems to work quite well.

"A very good and touble free backup."

Pros
I have the 1350 AH - 810 watt version and it has supported my system very well. When all that I have is running it draws 250-300 watts and after one outage that lasted for around 15 minutes it took care of things very nicely.
Cons
It could use a few more outlets on the battery protection side. actually I have to run a cord to a multi outlet strip, but there ahs never been any problems with doing that other than the inconvenience of crawling under the desk to gain access.
Summary
I recomend the Power Panel very highly; it si far more satisfactory than either the Ativa (Office Depot) or the APC. Get one, and you won't be disappointed.

I wish that it would stay on the whole duration that the power is out, but unfortunately that is asking for miracles, right?

You can set the time to stay on battery before shutdown. It tell you how long it could run based on amp draw and current storage levels.
