Power MP3 WMA Converter User Reviews

"Works okay, but Updates are a Pain!"
Version: Power MP3 WMA Converter 6.1
Pros
My usage is limited to converting Audio files to lower bps to conserve storage space. Power converter works well at this.
Cons
I have had a full (paid) version for years. Every 'update' (and you'll get those emails) of the program will kill your registration and the updated (maybe even improved) version puts you back into an unregistered (limited use) version. Bad news.
Summary
It works.

"Useless unless you need to convert only 2 songs on a CD"
Version: Power MP3 WMA Converter 6.1
Pros
Supposed to be free
Cons
It isn't free.
Summary
Very simple. I wanted to convert some wma files to mp3 so I could play them on my Nook (it only plays mp3s). This is how this product is described, as an easy way to convert among audio files. Worked fine for the first song. Then the dreaded popup saying you need the registered i.,e. "paid" version if you want to convert DRM wma's. Since I own the CD's, I didn't think this would (or should) be an issue. Stay away from this useless timewaster.

"Garbage - Malware infested - Not freeware."
Version: Power MP3 WMA Converter 6.1
Pros
Easily uninstalled itself!
Cons
Forced a tool bar installation and changed search engine and home page. Then the "free" version has so little functionality that you can't figure out if it is worth it.
Summary
I wish I hadn't tried it. It took over an hour to get things back to normal after the installation. It did uninstall easily.

"NOT FREEWARE!!!"
Version: Power MP3 WMA Converter 6.1
Pros
None - can't get it to work.
Cons
Comes up under Free Only search, abstract says Free. BUT, once installed, it turns out to be Shareware, and will only convert ONE file before you have to purchase the full version. Bait-and-Switch is still alive and well, sadly...

Cons

Summary

"Not truly free"
Version: Power MP3 WMA Converter 6.1
Pros
Converts to and from MP3.
Cons
Only converts 2 files at a time. Only burns 1 file at a time. Popup wants you to buy premium version with little trial.
Summary
Free Rip MP3 Converter is much better.
-
"Bait and switch"
Version: Power MP3 WMA Converter 6.1
Pros
Converts, but only one file, regardless of repeated claims for "free"
Cons
Says it's "free" and says nothing about a free trial, or a limited free sample. You install, get the opportunity to accept unwanted ad-ware, move all your files into place, then at the last second it tells you it will convert only one file.
Summary
This is bait and switch. If they'd been honest, i might even have bought it, but being treated this way...forget it! Honesty pays, fraud doesn't

"FAKE - Do not download"
Version: Power MP3 WMA Converter 6.0
Pros
None at all
Cons
It is fake, link to website for 'paid' software. Also leaves dodgy files on your harddrive which my anti-virus/spy/malware software had to remove
Summary
Fake, dodgy, don't bother.
-
"Not for me"
Version: Power MP3 WMA Converter 6.0

Cons
see above.
Summary
I could not use it.
