PostgreSQL is a robust, scalable and well supported Open Source database engine. This packaging installs it into Mac OS sensitive locations and adds some limited graphical management tools, with more to come over the coming months.


Part of the effort here is to give PostgreSQL the same level of ease of use that Microsoft brings with SQL Server's management tools.

What's new in this version:

  • So the new builds are available for download.  There are a couple of things to note, so read up a bit before you go installing.  First of all, there is no longer multiple installations for the two versions.  
  • Everything is now in one installer.  9.0.0 is the default, but you can select the 8.4.4 version from the custom installation option.  
  • The installer now goes to the /Library/PostgreSQL  folder instead of /Library/PostgreSQL8.  If... See all new features
