Pop Up Blocker Pro and Spyware Detector 5.0.3

Although it's good to see a utility that deals with spyware and the pop-ups that often come with it, Pop Up Blocker Pro and Spyware Detector left us unimpressed with its functionality. We like that it works with both Internet Explorer and Netscape, and it offers good configuration options on installation. However, we found its spyware detection inadequate. It blocked some spyware but didn't stop widespread parasites such as CashBack and MySearch. Pop Up Blocker Pro and Spyware Detector also does not remove any spyware; you'll need another application to clean your system. We aren't impressed by its pop-up blocking, either. Although it takes care of the usual suspects, it doesn't stop floating ads. In our tests, it also blocked legitimate pop-ups that should have launched from a link. In the saturated area of pop-up blocking, this program doesn't compete all that well.
