"Buggy and flawed"
Version: PodUtil 4.5
Pros
Nice interface.
Cons
Tried Quick Recover three times. It got stuck after a few hundred files every time. Had to force quit the app two of those times. In the full browsing mode, there is no way to copy only a playlist or two. When viewing a playlist, it claims "17 files will be copied" (or however many), but when you click "Begin Copy" it says all 5,732 (or however many) will be copied.
Summary
Additionally, unchecking the option to "Copy previously copied tracks" is ineffective. Tracks are copied again and duplicated in iTunes, even though the app marks these tracks with the green dot for already being in iTunes.

"Buggy: Won't open/run"
Version: PodUtil 4.0.13
Summary

This program is useless on my 10.4.11-running iBook with all updates installed.
Useless, as such.
I have an older (FREE) version of Senuti which runs flawlessly. If anybody wants the dmg file, I'll send it to them.
Toodles. -

I downloaded this for a specific problem. I accidentally deleted a playlist from iTunes and wanted to restore it from my iPod. Seems simple, this program is supposed to be able to do this, so I gave it a shot.
Well the documentation is really intended for people looking to restore their whole libraries from their iPod, music and all, which is fine. However don't thrown in a few meager bits about restoring a Playlist and then say this thing can "restore" a playlist. From much trying and mucking about with this program I could only get the playlist I wanted back by allowing the app to re-copy all the songs to my library. Fair enough, following the help files I would just tell it to 'skip' all my files (since they are all still in my library) and simply allow it to re-create the one playlist I wanted out of about 25 I have. Well unlike the docs it didn't offer to skip, it appended a 1 to each filename and copied all the songs back to my library. It also copied all my other *unselected* playlists so that I now had 2 of all of them. There was no way to link the playlist to my *old* files so when I deleted the new copies of songs it cleared my playlist.
Long story short, not the util forrestoring playlists unless they improve the docs, make steps more clear and straighten out functionality of this app.
It is a nice looking program that seems capable but if it can't do things you are offering it for maybe spend more time on the basics. Also good luck finding the contact email for the programmer. -
"BEST. EVAR."

I have downloaded nearly EVERY APP for doing this; this is thus far the best I have found. Works GREAT, easy interface, and FREE. I only docked a star for ease of use because I had to figure out that it copies the songs that are CHECKED...so if you want to just copy a playlist only, you have to UNCHECK the whole iPod library first, then select the playlist and check all of them. Fortunately, if you select a group of files and click the checkbox, it checks/unchecks all of them at once. -

My external HD just went blank after playing with DVD Studio Pro. I lost all media; this was the only iPod app that put my whole music library back on my HD.
