RTD uses the below equation for temperature and resistance relationship, Rt = Rref ( 1 + a Tdiff) Where Rt = resistance of the conductor are temperature toCRref = resistance at reference temperature, usually 0oCa = temperature coefficient of resistanceTdiff = difference between operating and reference temperature From the above equation Temperature can be measured given the resistance of the RTD and vice versa is also possible. With Pocket PC RTD Thermocouple application, you can calculate the temperature by inputting the resistance without even knowing the temperature coefficient and the relationship. All these constants are predefined and taken care by the tool while calculation. Most commonly used platinum, copper and nickel RTD are simulated in the application.Custom calculation of Temperature or Resistance is also possible using RTD Custom Calculator module.Thermocouple:It is a device, consisting of two dissimilar metals joined together, called thermocouple and generate a voltage which is a function of difference between the temperatures of the two junctions.With Pocket PC RTD Thermocouple application, you can calculate the output voltage with the given temperature.
