I do not have the product installed.
I received a Plaxo-originated automated request for an update of personal information in the name of an acquaintance. The reply was to be to apparently a Plaxo-controlled Website. I almost deleted it immediately as spam. However, I sent an e-mail to my friend explaining that I was extremely concerned about this request to send my personal data to an unknown URL. If my friend can't take the time to personally send me an e-mail directly to ask for the info, I certainly will not take the time to send that info to Plaxo.
BTW, since their product if free, how are they paying their staff? Public statements by the company owners say that they've gone thru $10 million dollars already - but I have yet to see any public statements about how they plan to get a return on that investment. If somebody out there knows, please share it with all of us.
