Needs mass conversion of photos. I couldn't find it.
-
"Best value for money available"

Cons
Nothing important
Summary

-
"Much cheaper than Photoshop and just about as good."

Cons
None that I can think of.

"The Constant editing of the brushes"
Version: Pixelmator 1.6
Pros
Some Windows are hidden, until you click on a few icons
Cons
I would definitely buy it, but as i said in the comments above. I would definitely keep away from this one
Summary
First of all i do not like it when you keep having to edit the brushes. Windows are hidden until you click on a few icons. It is a bit like Photoshop, but the big difference to me is if everything was all shown like Photoshop. The other big draw back is that you keep having to edit the brushes from a drop down menu.

"What a deal!"
Version: Pixelmator 1.5.1
Pros
More intuitive than P'shop. Inexpensive! Fun!
Cons
Not perfectly intuitive and not quite as Rambo as P'shop.
Summary
Just the thing for the majority of the more common photo tasks.
-
"Does what it needs to do, overly complex."
Version: Pixelmator 1.5.1
Pros
Lots of functionality.
Cons
The floating palettes and the arcane structure makes that one always seems to be spending lots of time looking for 'how to do it'
Summary
I found no shortcomings for any of the work I need to do, but oh boy, I will never learn to use it as I find the complexity such, that I can't seem to remember how to get it done for a next project. The learning curve seems to get steeper instead of reaching a stage of intuitive working.

"One of the best photo editors out there!"
Version: Pixelmator 1.5
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
As a former Photoshop user who has completely converted to Pixelmator I feel that there isn't a better photo editor out there. From price to speed to function to free updates you just can't beat Pixelmator. I would recommend it to any Mac user! -
"An amazingly bad piece of software"
Version: Pixelmator 1.2
Pros
It has a pretty little window that pops up when you select a tool or undo a command.
Cons
Missing basic tools (e.g. Cropping), crashes frequently, horrible text handling (when it works at all), doesn't provide feedback on tool settings, doesn't handle transparencies right (especially when you rotate), has a terrible "fill" command, etc.
Summary
If you want to get any work done, avoid this tool. I bought it because I didn't want to bite the bullet and pay the (steep) price for Photoshop. Bad idea. Unless you have zero budget and all the time in the world to kill on meaningless projects, this software will end up *costing* you far more than Photoshop despite the difference in price.

"Great Photoshop Substitute!!"
Version: Pixelmator 1.3.2
Pros
Excellent brush and bucket control control. (Never had that level before.) Can change image colors by picking the color effect and opacity to get the color you want where you want it.
Cons
Layer control and effects need work.
