    "Great Photoshop Substitute!!"

    November 20, 2008  |   By Rihandi

    Version: Pixelmator 1.3.2

    Pros

Excellent brush and bucket control control. (Never had that level before.) Can change image colors by picking the color effect and opacity to get the color you want where you want it.

    Cons

Layer control and effects need work.

"Pleasure to use! Looks great! Loads Fast!"

    September 25, 2008  |   By zee10

    Version: Pixelmator 1.2.3

    Pros

The look of Pixelmator is very elegant and attractive. Pleasure to use, everything loads in a second, compared to PE loading in 3 minutes.
Has all the necessary tools for 90% of regular photo adjustments and more.

    Cons

Some tools are missing, hopefully we'll see them in the next upgrade.
One of them is Highlight s and Shadows which is very effective tool.

    Summary

Everything about pixelmator is MAC. It's built for MAC and it acts like MAC.
It's elegant, esthetically pleasant look, and does almost everything that PE does.

    Version: Pixelmator 1.2.3

    Pros

Offers a lot of the same tools as Photoshop.

    Cons

Doesn't offer Photoshops more advanced features and watermarks images in the demo.

    Summary

Great relatively low-cost image-editing app for Mac.

    "Thanks for nothing--avoid this product!!"

    June 13, 2008  |   By CherryTop2007

    Version: Pixelmator 1.2

    Pros

I initially thought the program might be too simple to do anything impressive, but after I played with it awhile, I liked it's capabilities and it's not overly complex.

    Cons

This so-called "demo" though, sucks. I worked for 4 hours getting used to the program, fiddling with it using a photo I NEVER thought I'd be able to clean up, and re-opened it this morning to discover "CREATED WITH PIXELMATOR" stamped across the front. Really pissed me off--what kind of demo is that?!? So I tried it again with another image and guess what? Now the image has disappeared entirely from the file I'd been saving on.

I'd rather spend an entire year saving up $1,000 bucks for Photoshop than give Pixelmator $59 for a license -- based on this crappy demo experience alone.
