    "Piece of Junk"

    December 14, 2012  |   By jusho

    Version: Ping Tester 9.39

    Pros

    None that I can see

    Cons

This looks like a DOS application from the 1980's.
It doesn't even resolve the addresses it pings.
    Waste of time

    "Solid program for the price."

    January 14, 2011  |   By harlanharris

    Version: Ping Tester 9.32

    Pros

Everything about it is a good. Enough features in the pro version to cover all of the basics. Even though not free, the price is very reasonable for the features provided.

    Cons

No real cons, just some features I would like to see added or improved upon. I would like the scan ip (scanning a range of ips) to run faster. If you are scanning a large subnet the scan can take some time even on a fast system.

    Summary

I use the program almost everyday. I would like to see some added features. If some host are set to not respond to a ping it will probably not see them; it would be nice to have the program detect layer 2 addresses even if the host does not respond on a layer 3 level. Another item that would be great would be for the program to detect multiple devices on the network that were trying to use the same ip address. I occassionally do network security scanning and have seen instances where someone hacked into a companies network and setup a device with a static address the same as that of a server, thus usually knocking the server offline. I do not know if the program could be designed to do these things, but it would make a great program even better.

    "Gool tool for network administrator"

    December 9, 2010  |   By karlblachford1975

    Version: Ping Tester 9.32

    Pros

As a network administrator, you may often need to test whether the equipment of the network is normally connected to the network, which is a niggling job. PingTester can help you greatly reduce your workload.

    Cons

No problem has been found till now.

    Summary

PingTester can test the connection condition of all sets of equipment at the same time and make statistics and analyze the results to be outputted out as a report.
PingTester can save many sets of IP addresses and every set of IP can include many IPs or IPs within a certain scope. PingTester can Ping and Tracert many sets of IP addresses at the same time and run test tasks in fixed times, and it will send e-mails to inform the network administrator when finding deviant connection of some equipment. Additionally, PingTester also supports some relatively complicated test methods, such as sending data packets in different sizes to network equipment as set.

"Decent program for what it does, but nothing new"

    August 25, 2010  |   By BooninatorMC

    Version: Ping Tester 9.32

    Pros

Great for organizing results from multiple, simultaneos pings and tracerts. The full Version can aparently email results though I could not test this.

    Cons

All of functions can be done in a command prompt easily. The benefit being that it organizes them for you in a non-expandible screen may not be worth the 36 bucks. I guess it comes down to personal cash flow and if you can rationalize the ducketts

    Summary

If you've got the money to blow, and need to know what multiple tracerts and pings are doing, you'd like to have results emailed to you and have it run when you're not around at a scheduled time.... Get this proogram. If you think this will revolutionize pinging or traceing, dont get it. The actual functionality of this is nothing new, its like a personal assitant for pings and tracerts. But a well organized personal assistant.

"Does what it says on the tin!"

    February 12, 2010  |   By Murphoid

    Version: Ping Tester 9.32

    Pros

Pings, records data for pings, tracerts, makes logs, proves network stability.

    Cons

There is no reason to charge any money for this app. Go open source / open code and just charge for support! Also, the graphics make the app look fantastically dated, needs a newer look.

    Summary

It works and has the functions it claims to have. This app really should be completely open source / open code and free for all, but the did let me use it for free.
