Version: Pidgin 2.4.2
Pros: I first found this one when I installed Ubuntu Linux on one of my other hard drives. I like it much better then MSN or Yahoo because it doesn't install any hidden content & there is no spy-ware in it. This is a great program for both Linux & Windows users though I don't know if Mac is supported or not.
Cons: Only thing I don't like about it so far is you can do voice or video, but otherwise great program.

Pros: Right out of the box (so to speak) this program has everything you need. From its simple, clean, easy to understand interface to its many useful features, Pidgin gives you all the features you want without all of the garbage that other similar programs shove in your face. The low memory profile is great too.
Cons: I'd like the ability to download skins for it, but really it doesn't matter that much.

Pros: This software is good. It has all the functionality you need while not being too complicated or overloaded with unnecessary features.
