Pico Blog Software

Publisher's Description

From 7theSandbox:

Pico is a free, GPL'd, full-featured, miniscule blog program written entirely in Perl. It weighs in at just around 14K, making it one of the smallest blog packages available. Despite its small size, Pico contains many features found in much larger commercial blog applications.

"Fast, easy, great features, version 1.1 is even better!"

    July 12, 2005  |   By perlMonkey

    Version: Pico Blog Software 1.0

    Pros

I started out with Pico 1.0 and used it to serve up a blog from my zaurus which was pretty cool. After a week or so I went to the company site (www dot 7thesandbox dot com) and saw that they had an even newer release called Mogul 1.1. I downloaded that and it is even better than the last one. It has RSS feeds, entry categories, and a lot more stuff than the first one did. At ~17k, I am seriously considering ditching Movable Type and going for something lightweight and infinitely customizable like this for my real blog. Don't get me wrong, there are definitely some features that they will never be able to cram into a package this small, but for its size, nothing comes close.

    Cons

Not as many features as some other commercially available blogs. However, none of them even come close size wise so what do you expect.
