"Greatest thing is the beauty & ease of the Collage tool"

    January 30, 2009  |   By wwjdfrog

    Pros

Easy to use and set up

    Cons

if you have a LOT of pictures, it takes a long time initially for the program to "SETUP" all the pic files

    Summary

No sooner did i download it and install it, i immediately had to update it as Picasa 3.0 is out now. Wish i'd known that BEFORE downloading 2.7. Would have saved time. HOWEVER, the program is great for several things, but as i already have a WONDERFUL program called UPSHOT for FIXING pictures, i mostly got this for the Collage creator. IT is wonderful and makes me look VERY creative to others when i present them with an AWESOME Collage that clearly took me weeks to do, BUT which in reality only took a few minutes using Picasa 3.0

I mentioned the Collage feature as being great and it is. You may be thinking it makes a single type of collage with your selected pictures, but it goes way beyond that. It not only offers MANY sizes for the collage to be created in, it ALSO offers several TYPES of collages, using a very few photos or several hundred, all of one size or making the selected pics come together in various sizes, hodge podge or in an even grid. AND a LAST feature, great for printing or saving and very useful at seeing your pics at a glance, it will create a page of the pics using small thumbnails WITH the name of the collection and Date at the top. If you are wanting someone to see your pics and just print a few for them to keep, this is a great way. Especiallly if you are like me and take hundreds during a month or event vice a handful. BOTTOM LINE? Picasa lets you be as Creative as you WANT to be - just a tad or one time thing or Often, Varied and, well, AWESOME!
