Version: Piano FX Studio 4
Pros: I really liked the sound quality. It also had many different instruments to choose from which all sounded great. You can adjust the volume, pitch, octave you're playing in, and they have melody samples. It's pretty responsive when you play with the keyboard. That's pretty much the good part.
Cons: I didn't like the fact that when you play with the keyboard, you can't sustain a note. It only holds out the note when you use the mouse to play. When you try to sustain it just sounds like you're playing one note really fast. The drum machine feature is limited and restricting. It only plays one tempo, and each instrument goes at it's own tempo. All they can do is eighth notes through whole notes and slower. The recording feature requires a codec in order to play (what you saved) in a media player, which I can't download because it cannot be found. If you're looking for something that emulates a piano better, I suggest you download Sweet Little Piano.

"Many instruments to choose from."
Pros: Small, free, piano program has many instruments to choose from.
Cons: To the other reviewers . .
Know your computer ! ! .
The mouse works fine for note playing, but the keyboard is not so good.
The notes keep repeating, because of the Windows keyboard repeat function.
So to help some out with this info ::::
The reason your keyboard is not playing single notes is because
of the keyboard repeat function. You will notice that when you are typing in say Notepad / Wordpad or Microsoft Word, when you hold down a key it repeats. So if you want your piano to work properly on your computers keyboard, you will have to turn your keyboard repeat off.
This is how to do that using Windows XP.
Make sure you have NO text windows open
Like: Notepad / Wordpad or Microsoft Word
Then hold down the right shift key for more than 8 secs.
A popup window called Accessibility Options should appear.
Select the Keyboard tab.
Put a check mark in the box labelled " use Filter Keys "
Then click on Settings beside that.
In the new window make sure you leave the Keyboard shortcut enabled.
That is the check mark in the " Use Shortcut " box.
Put a check mark in " Ignore quick keystrokes and slow down the repeat rate ".
Click on settings beside that.
Select No Keyboard Repeat.
Leave everything else as it is.
Click OK and OK and Apply and OK.
Thats it your done.
To bring back repeating keys.......
Double click on the Filter Keys Icon in the bottom right system tray
or hold the right shift key for 8 secs, then:
Delete the check mark in the box " use Filter Keys "
Click on OK. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Torrentula . . . .

Version: Piano FX Studio 4
"A fun FX studio for beginners, but wait..."
Pros: Great melody samples with lots of instrument types available. Easy to navigate interface. A fun FX studio for beginners using the desktop computer.
Cons: There IS a major flaw (technically, a run time error) when you try to stop a sample melody using the numbered button associated with the current sample being played. Second, you can't sustain a note when using the PC keyboard. Finally, at this current version, I suggest that Tanseon Systems should offered this software first as freeware until all obvious flaws have been debugged and fixed.
