Version: Photozig Albums Express 1.0.293
"Lots of Great Features and Free"
Pros: I was looking for something simple for my Mom when I stumbled on this program about 2 months ago. It was very surprising especially since it was free... Since then my Mom has been using it in the Beginner mode, and I actually love the interface in the Advanced mode (you can select between 3 levels).
Photozig has some impressive free photo organizing features, like a very effective album organizer with categories, tags, and quick search. You can quickly build nice photo albums, create slideshows with music (only MP3 songs though), send photos by email, burn a CD with slideshows and publish photo albums online.
In addition, it has all the basic editing tools you need plus it doesn't take much space on the hard drive.
And contrary to what some other people have said, the free version definitely does allow people to build web album galleries and post pictures to their own web sites, local folders, or to the publisher's web site.
The user interface is fairly easier than other programs. It is quick and intuitive and does a good job of keeping dialogs out of the way. I ended up paying for the non-free version, which also does backup and restore. But I would recommend the free version to anyone looking for an easy and pretty powerful photo organizer and photo share (email and web).

"Good idea but very unmature (early beta level)"
Pros: * A very logical and illustrative approach to creating albums. Will probably suit well to first-timers / people who are unsure with applications in general.
* A very handy idea of selecting a tag and then the photos to which the tag should be applied.
Cons: * Does not utilize EXIF fields. Only free text Description and Title available, i.e. you can't specify place, people, keywords in separate fields.
* No possibility to filter according to date?
* Very lousy, minimal help file. The web site does not provide that much more information, neither.
* No way to unselect a group of photos! You have to click them one at the time...
* In my brand new WinXP PC the application became unstable and stopped responding after a working with a few dozen photos (in album of 2500+ photos for starters).
