"Don't waste your money on this product."

    November 19, 2011  |   By John_Anonymous

It does resize and sharpen images.

It costs one or two hundred dollars for something other programs do for free.

The reason for my one star rating is that the good reviews of this product were obviously written by shills working for the company. I might have given it two stars just because it does what it says, but I detest deceit. I myself use the old MS Photo Editor to resize and sharpen my images. I did this with two test images, and the result was almost identical to what this ridiculously expensive product did. Note that my Photo Editor is over fifteen years old!!!

What magnification were you using? At 120%, or even 150%, the difference might not be apparent -- but remember that you're looking at it on a 72ppi screen. Crank it up to 300%, and the difference will be visible even at 72ppi -- but print the PhotoZoom version and the MS Photo Editor version on a high-dpi printer, and I'm betting that there will be a noticeable difference even at lower magnification. What I saw was pretty dramatic.

It may also have to do with the size and quality of your monitor. I'm using a Samsung XL24 (or 24XL), a 24" LED-backlit monitor that sold new for $2000, and no matter what filter I tried in PS I couldn't get anywhere close to what PhotoZoom did at default settings.
