    "Saved my data"

    December 9, 2004  |   By vling

    Version: PhotoRescue Wizard 2.0.646

    Summary

I had a 512mb CF card show up blank. PhotoRescue recovered 300mb of photos from my vacation. For that many images, the interface is a little klunky. However, with this kind of app, it's the functionality that really counts, and PhotoRescue did what nothing else could.

    "It did the job"

    November 8, 2004  |   By kurzhoefer

    Version: PhotoRescue Wizard 2.1.660

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Friends of mine had a problem with a 128 Smart Media Card from an Olympus Camera, the card was defect. They asked me, whether I could help, and I tried Lexar Imagerescue first, which was able to recover 1 image only. I tried also Picture Rescue Demo, but it looked like, that after locating half of the missing images, it displayed the same image several times. Then I tried PhotoRescue demo and with the exception of four images, all images were visible. So I bought the full version (its also cheaper than Picture Rescue), and it did the job perfectly. Also two Quicktime movies were recovered by PhotoRescue.

    Brilliant !!

    "Good app, but poor support"

    June 7, 2004  |   By kaszeta

    Version: PhotoRescue Wizard 2.0.657

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Photorescue Expert is nice---it's save my pictures once, and I've used it to salvage pictures off of friends' cards on photoshoots.

Howver, the support leaves a lot to be desired. I filll out the upgrade webform. Nothing. I mail support, and get emailed an old version that only works in German. I mail again, and they tell me to fill out the upgrade webform. Again, nothing.

    "Upgrade problem"

    March 23, 2004  |   By joebobj

    Version: PhotoRescue Wizard 2.0.648

    Summary

The program works as advertised but the upgrade is difficult. Info is confusing about which version you have and it does not show up in the Versiontracker Pro list on my computer. After downloading, it is still confusing as to how to register it even though I have already paid for a previous version.

"This one I shall pay for soon..."

    February 18, 2004  |   By Larry Jacobsen

    Version: PhotoRescue Wizard 2.0.646

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
The demo version read my card two different ways, is able to see all the pics on a card that somehow was corrupted (son's wedding pics) and asked if I wanted to create a backup image file which later the paid version can read.

I placed the corrupted card in a reader, and it found it and read it. The 'helps' were useful in knowing how to configure the expert mode. I experimented with the card three times, and the expert manual mode found 5 or 6 pics that the other method did not see.

This is a fine piece of work...
