Editors' reviewQuickly create a slide show for your desktop with this easy-to-use executable, although it falls a bit short on pizzazz. PhotoFlash sports a simple interface with a wizard to guide you through the program. You can select a background color or pattern for your wallpaper, add photos (and captions for each, if you'd like), adjust the size and position of your slide show on the desktop, define the time between photo changes, and choose the color frame for your photos. (The program also includes a sample you can modify.) However, although PhotoFlash gives the option of adding special display effects, you can't select the effects and they aren't as robust as offered by similar programs. Also, you must use the Display Properties option to remove your new wallpaper; to reactivate your slide show, you must activate the executable. Despite those issues, any user who wants a simple way to personalize his or her desktop will like this application, which has a 10-day trial.

PhotoFlash displays photos on top of any wallpaper or background. Photos change at whatever interval you specify. The wizard-style interface guides you through the entire process.
