PhoneTray is the ultimate Call Blocking and Caller ID software. It shows and speaks the caller's name and number before you answer the phone. PhoneTray logs all your incoming calls and can reject any unwanted call by answering and playing selected message. PhoneTray can automatically zap telemarketers with a special disconnected tone. It can play Federal do-not-call warning forcing telemarketers to remove you from their calling lists.
Announces incoming call with voice and ring sound that are modifiable. You can customize the outgoing response message with several different choices and even allows recording of your own personal message. Blocking is very flexible. There are white/black lists to insure that the right people get through and the wrong ones don't. (It's funny that a Scam called just got blocked while I was typing this review.)
My main complaint is that I can't get this program for my iPhone. Apple's tight control won't allow PhoneTray to block calls in IOS. (Sure hope Apple changes that one of these days.) Also, when upgrading PC's to Win 10, Microsoft's installation procedure changed some file extensions in PhoneTray's folder and made it inoperative until PhoneTray's friendly support staff sent me a prompt email explaining how to fix that. I could have probably figured it out given some time but the help made it darn easy.
If you are looking for a program for your caller-ID-modem-equipped-PC, look no further. This is it. Simple enough for the novice, but with powerful features to block those hated calls from people that don't care that you have registered with the "Do Not Call List.
Does not show up on screen in Windows 10 if you have screen saver on??
I specifically asked if it was compatible with Windows 10 and they said yes. Downloaded Windows 10 and now I don't have names appear on screen because of screen saver. They told me I have to listen to the name through the speakers or turn off screen saver?? That's not what I paid for.
I've been using PhoneTray Pro software for about 3 years now. The problems you mention I believe is the same problem I encountered when I upgraded to Windows 10. Microsoft's installation process changed some file extensions in my PhoneTray Pro folder and it stopped operating properly. I made an inquiry to the helpful support folks at PhoneTray.com and found the file names that had been modified and changed them back to their proper extentions and all was well. I hope you have done the same. I love this program.
