"Good tool, limited interoperability, upgrades expensive"
Version: PersonalBrain 6.0.7.3
Pros
Good user interface. Good web site publication. Flexible relationships (links).
Cons
Nonfree versions cost a lot to continue to upgrade over time. Doesn't allow flexible mappings to other software.
Summary
Easy to get addicted to, but once you buy in and start to amass your own models, be sure you can interface to other software as you want. Also, try to be happy with free version, or prepare to pay, pay, and pay again and again to get the features you feel you need.

"A unique method of relating your important information"
Version: PersonalBrain 6.0.7
Pros
Keeps information connected in a unique visual map. Nicely implemented seach and navigation of information. Add almost any type of file to your information map. Regularly updated and strong support from the developer. Cross-platform.
Cons
Note editor is weak. On the pricey side (if you get the pro edition, which you should).
Summary
You can jam a ton of information from all kinds of sources into PersonalBrain and always feel like you can find what you need when you need it. The developer has many tutorials to help you get the hang of it. It's a terrific program if you're willing to fork over this kind of money.

"Dozens of thoughtful features and amazing versatility"
Version: PersonalBrain 6.0.5.1
Pros
The interface provides a flexible environment for organizing almost anything. I can use PB on both my MacBook and my PC, and sync files via the new Web Brain feature.
Cons
I'd like the notes feature to feel less clunky.

"Excellent learning tool"
Version: PersonalBrain 4.5.0.9
Pros
Helps me to summarise my thoughts, get a quick access to the vaourite websites. Brilliant!
Cons
Slows down my computer and too expensive to upgrade to the Pro.
-
"Ideal for writers"
Version: PersonalBrain 4.5.0.9
Pros
Very intuitive, easy to manipulate and to link to outside material.
Cons
Haven't found them yet -- but like all apps, I expect that sooner or later I'll come across some and spend a lot of time cursing the thing.
Summary
I'm right in the middle of a long, complex mystery story set in a very definite place and this is ideal for keeping track of the timeline, background and environment. Something I've been looking for for a long time. Takes the place of about a zillion filecards and scotch tape to stick them to the wall.

"not what I was looking for"

Cons
not what I was looking for
Summary

"Awesome potential.."
Version: PersonalBrain 4.0.9
Pros
This software is great for helping you analyze connections beween things and seeing all the relationships at once. Hopefully it will get even better!
Cons
The interface has some issues, and there needs to be more intelligent hiding and arranging of thought-nodes, they seem to bounce and stretch vast distances a lot once you start getting a lot of them going. it needs some serious user feedback. This software has awesome unrealized potential, it's too bad enough people don't realize it yet.

"This thing ROCKS!"
Version: PersonalBrain 4.0.9
Pros
This application is FANTASTIC. Sleek design and easy to use. I've been using PersonalBrain for a long time now, and the new 4.0 version just blew me away. It really does display my information on the computer the way my REAL brain actually remembers the info. It's a great tool for keeping track of projects, ideas, web sites, personal interests and contacts.
I also think that the company is great. They have free web training sessions every week. Yea, free... who else does that these days. I joined one session, even though I'm a long time user and I still learned a bunch of new tricks. I don't often write reviews, only if I'm really mad - or really happy. And this tool qualifies. I can't live without my Personal Brain ;)
Cons
The only thing I don't like is that my office doesn't have the corporate version of PersonalBrain yet... but I'm working on it.

"Great software - Dicey Company"
Version: PersonalBrain 3.02
Pros
The program is useful right out of the box. It implemements some remarkable ideas about how to link the way that business people use their desktop with a wide variety of digital content. Attactive, if a tad busy interface.
Cons
Unfortunately, the company that owns this program is not quite as good as the program itself. I won't bore you with the details, but they do not do what they say they are going to to. Do business with this company at your great risk. NEVER make a promise to your own client based on their committment.
