"No Customer Service... Stay Away!"
I know this is about Raxco PerfectSpeed but this is a little background. The first time I dealt with Raxco was in 2007 when I purchased PerfectDisk and I've purchased 2 or 3 upgrades of PerfectDisk since. I liked the product and been using it since then. But I never had to deal with Customer or Tech support.
Just recently, I downloaded PerfectUpdater from download.cnet.com and after installing it did not work (and this is not the con). So I uninstalled it, went to their website, downloaded it and installed the new one. When I opened it, I received a pop-up message stating "Your Free Trial has expired". I did not even get a chance to try it! I contacted Customer support and recived an email saying " make sure to permit or disable your firewall before installing." The issue had nothing to do with firewall or the software accessing their website. I contacted them again and received an email from a different person. He provided instructions on how to properly remove the software and then reinstall. No matter what I did and how well, I uninstalled, cleaned my laptop and registry, I still kept getting the same message. I contacted Customer support again and have not heard from them since.
With a customer support service such as this, what is my incentive to purchase their software? If this is how it is before I purchase, what would it be like after they have my money?
