"Tried 4 computers (XP and Vista) couldn't get to work"

    September 18, 2009  |   By mosspa

Version: Pdf To Flash Converter 3000 7.4

    Pros

If this thing actually worked, I'd buy it in an instant. If it does what it says it does at the price they are charging for it it would be a GREAT application. I like the user interface very much and found it intuitive.

    Cons

Tried it on 4 computers (2 XP, 2 Vista). Couldn't get a flash file that anything that I have that will read Flash could read. The advertising suggests that the trial version will produce a watermarked SWF file. It doesn't. It produces nothing!

    Summary

If they DID produce a trial version that was 100% identical to the full version but substituted watermarked output, it would be possible to truly evaluate the product. With what they provide, it is impossible to evaluate anything other than the user interface (which is very good). This is too bad. If the program performs as they say, I feel that I might be missing out onthe perfect application because they haven't shown me anything (even an actual flash file produced by the program along with the PDF that was used would be helpful. As it stands now, what this program amounts to is a $60 risk. Also, what is the 7.4 all about? If this is really the 4th revision of the 7th version then where are working examples of what it can do. Right now, I would suggest not wasting one's time with this application. I had high hopes for it but was severely let down. Another silly decision by a software developer who doesn't understand how marketing works.

"Completely Useless Rip-Off Can't Believe CNET allows it"

    August 23, 2009  |   By nosadmac

Version: Pdf To Flash Converter 3000 7.4

    Pros

Absolutely Nothing. Actually surprised it's not malware. At least have not found malware in it, YET.

    Cons

Like the previous reviewer said, the theory of it is nice. But we tried the free one and just like the reviewer hinted, it made a little useless 28k file of our 12meg PDF. So, we decided to buy it ($50). After that it makes a 130 BYTE file. Useless.

    Summary

Download.Com is a place I usually trust for no-malware products that actually work. This one is complete FAIL and this sort of thing should not be here, or on ANY reputable site. We'd like our money back, but I doubt we'll have any luck there.

If any of you know of a TRULY functional PDF to FLV converter, please post it here in the reviews so people can find the real thing. Thanks

    "Cripple Ware"

    July 16, 2009  |   By StevietheK

Version: Pdf To Flash Converter 3000 7.4

    Pros

    Good idea in theory

    Cons

The free download is a waste of time - crippleware that only partially converts your document, along with a huge, low-res URL, making even the partial conversion useless.

    Summary

The description does not mention the partial-enablement, the URL, or the bait and switch to a fully paid version. Everyone understands these concepts, but if you hide it in order to get the download, you're being dishonest. Recommend not downloading.
