CNET Editors' review
Allowing you to transmit Web-based data and content via Bluetooth, PdaNet for Android allows your PC to connect to the Internet using both the phone's standard radio and its Bluetooth radio. PdaNet for Android is free to try but the full version will cost you $23.95.
The version of the app discussed here is the one paired with a 64-bit Windows machine. When it comes to the interface, access to the PdaNet for Android app is almost instantaneous. You are just given two options, to enable USB tether or to enable Bluetooth DUN. Each option, when chosen, provides a step-by-step guide to help you complete the required setups. Once done, we tried testing the connection speed. While there was a slight reduction in overall data transfer speed, the amount is actually negligible enough for us to disregard this drawback. What's very important when it comes to this app is that it allows a wireless Internet connection in which only our Windows machine and phone are able to communicate, unlike Wi-Fi.
PdaNet for Android is a cheap and very handy way of providing an Internet connection to any PC. It may require you to have an additional Bluetooth radio accessory if you are using a desktop PC, but at least your wireless connection is as secure as it should be.
Editors' note: This is a review of the trial version of PdaNet for Android (64-bit Windows Installer).
Publisher's Description
From June Fabrics Technology:
PdaNet has been one of the most popular software for Windows Mobile phones, Palm OS phones and iPhones. It is now ported to the Android system. PdaNet provides you with full Internet access so all your email, instant message programs will work without any setting changes. Supports both USB Tether and Bluetooth DUN.
PdaNet does not require root access or hacking your phone's firmware in order to work. It is just a regular Android application that works on all Android phones as-is. Tethering is fast, secure and USB mode will also charge your phone at the same time. Your phone can either connect to 3G data, WiFi, or even through VPN and PdaNet will share the connection with your computer.
What's new in this version: Version 3.0 improves performance and fixes multiple connection issues. Now allows you to hide Tether usage.

"I love it. No problem using it."
Version: PdaNet for Android (64-bit Windows Installer) 3.00
Pros
I still have unlimited data on my RAZR Maxx so I use it a lot rather than paying for data on my home line.
Cons
None that I can think of.

"Easiest and Quickest"
Version: PdaNet for Android (64-bit Windows Installer) 3.00
Pros
Simple to use. Love the SMS Agent!
Cons
Sometimes it can lock up your phone so it is not recognized by your computer.
Summary
This is overall a great product. It saved my behind when having to do homework from an area without wifi. Most cellular companies are just preventing you to tether your phone simply so they can make more money. Those little dongle thingys are EXPENSIVE!
All in all I find the price is beautiful, PLUS, when I switch to my new 4G Android product and ditch my 3G Android Phone, I'll be in HEAVEN!!!
EVERY TIME June Fabrics updates their software, you don't have to pay for the update... it's free!
