It was due to the CNET downloader that will try to get you to download and install programs other than what you intended to download. Be careful to not check the boxes. -

Free application, plenty of customization, small file that didn't need to be installed before you use it.

None that I can think of, works great for what I need it for.

It depends what you are using this for, I think it is a must if you take lots of video with a cell phone, I took some videos with my Evo 4G today, and when I tried playing it with VLC media player the aspect ratio was correct, but there was no sound. When played with Windows Media Player, the aspect is 4:3 (even though its a 1280 X 720 resolution, 16:9), though the sound works, I couldn't stand the change in resolution. I decided to download this program, as it was free, though it really does have plenty more capability than it would first seem for a free app. I converted the files from 3gp to AVI, and it took literally three seconds or so (I chose to use the original stream), and mind you the file I converted was long, 3 minutes, 11,300 frames, 7,454kbps, 168mb original size. Only if you convert to another resolution would you have to worry about how long its going to take, it wont be super quick, but converting the same file to a different res using a different encoding took roughly 4 minutes on my AMD 5800 . Very satisfied, now I can enjoy the full resolution of the videos I have taken with my Evo, as well as sound, without WMP messing up the aspect ratio or making my videos horrible to watch! WMP compressed the video width, (I played side by side to see how it had redone the aspect ratio) so it really made it unwatchable for me, and I dont think its me being stupid and missing a setting on WMP to change the aspect ratio or change the video settings, I looked everywhere and couldn't find a way to make it look any other way but 4:3. If you have an Evo 4G this is a must, it made everything very easy!

Out of all the converters I used this does the job excellently. I managed to convert a 300mb movie in less than 20 minutes and the quality was excellent. The program works perfect on Windows 7 Ultimate

None whatsoever.

This is an excellent program to convert videos for any phone screen, I was able to tweak all the video and audio settings to the best possible picture and the result was perfect. And best of all its FREE

Very easy program to use. Took me no more than a minute to figure out how to get the right filesize out that i wanted. Did not crash even with several other programs running at the same time. No problem resizing 3gp files to fit on my phone.

Allows you to tweak video and audio settings for even the weakest phone. Mine is a 2+ year old, crappy Nokia flip phone.
Compresses vids very nicely.Cons
Presets for certain models of phones would make things easier when tweaking video settings.
