"Workhorse application"
Version: Password Manager XP 2.3.473
Pros
Multiple databases can be created each with user-based access controls.
Files can be attached to entries
Very strong encryption
Database fields can be added & modified easily
Good form filling
Can be run directly from USB driveCons
Needs a MAC OSX port
Some slight bugginess on automatic database lockingSummary
I have used Password Manager XP for several years now and it is an excellent product. While I have experienced some bugs over the years, I have not seen the ones described in this CNET review.
The fix is typically easy: a reinstall of the application. Might happen a little more than I'd like, but not enough to counterbalance the positive aspects of the tool.
Also, developer provides regular updates and has responded to any direct inquiries I made fairly quickly. (But its been a few years since I've had to do that.)
Finally, the ability to add and modify database fields is terrific - while that function might be available in the new versions of Keepass, I found that implementation had limitations that made it rather useless. (The first field I add to a new password database is "LAST password" - you need to keep track of the previous password for change one's password. How many times does something go awry in the change process? If you've already changed the password in the database then it becomes more time intensive to do a reset.)
I regularly use 15+ character RANDOM passwords generated by PMXP on all my accounts - much more secure than password reuse.
Only gripe: would love a MAC OSX implementation. When I'm on my Mac I have to boot a Wndows virtual machine to access passwords. That really is the only thing holding me back from a 5 star review. -
"Multi-languages support is questionable"
Version: Password Manager XP 2.3.471
Pros
Easy to use and do the job - keep your passwords organized and safe. Its management is similar to manage your files and folders in File Explorer. You can group all your password records into floders. You can make notes and attach files as needed.
Cons
Multi-language support is not 100% true and no multi-language input support either.
Summary
My version of Password Manager XP is professional. It claims to support multi-language but it is NOT 100% true. The languages support only work if your OS supports. I have English version operating system, XP Pro. If I select German from the language selection in the Password Manager XP as the default langague, German will be displayed properly because, I guess, English is part of Germanic languages group. If I choose Chinese or another other non-Germanic languages, what I see on screen will be the garbage and question marks (???) characters. It is really bad. It appears to me or end users that it doesn't support the languages but it claims to support. This problem doesn't happen to my other REAL multi-language supported software.
On my Windows XP system, I can type Chinese to mix English in to a document as long as I save it in unicode. Password Manager XP completely doesn't support it. Luckily the recent version (I can't recall from which version), it supports file attachment. So I can put notes into a document and then attach it to Password Manager.
I have never talked to their support. But I introduced it to a few friends but they all said they have never got a response/answer from them regarding the multi-language support limitation. Thus, I guess their support may not be a problem.
I have bought and owned this product for at least 5 or 6 years. It is a good product. Besides easy to use, you can make it available to your removable (thumb) USB drive or floppy. I like it. In addition, the licence is forever. Unlike your virus software licence or others, you pay zero (0) annual fee for renewal or upgrade. -

"Great App. Great Password Management system"
Version: Password Manager XP 2.2.370
Pros
Works well with IE and FIrefox. Works great with multiple users and concurrent access. No problems with form filling or in creating custom record templates. New version allows you to encrypt files along with a record. Very secure. Install to removeable device function works great, i can take my password database with me anywhere and not worry about security. I have close to 500 passwords and the program still works great. Also works great in a windows server enviroment since you can customize the permissions using NT authentication. The ability to customize fields and tabs is an awesome feature. You can also customize the password reports so that they print only certain fields in a certain order. Too many to list here!
Cons
Price (but still worth it).

"Over 300 passwords, thank you for PW Manager"
Version: Password Manager XP 2.2.370
Pros
1) multiple databases
2) Very very secure
3) easy to backup and restore a database
4) very powerful program, yet still easy to use.
5) Works with ie and firefox
I've been using this product for years with hundreds of passwords. It saves lots of time because you won't be forgetting your passwords and having to use the recovery feature on websites
Cons
1) doesn't work with opera but who uses that anyway
2) Only fills out user names and passwords, doesn't do entire forms.

"Only for SINGLE computer user!!"
Version: Password Manager XP 2.2.370
Pros
Great interface, Many functions.
Cons
DEFINATELY TRY BEFORE BUY!! 1- Spent several hours to get the program to function with 2 users, never succeeded!
2- I use Fire fox 2.0 v browser and got an error message accross the screen whenever I was NOT using the program to browse the net. EVERY page that I would visit I got a Message stating that a fire fox was unable to load the password manager program.
3- I made the fatal mistake of buying before trying!
4- To confusing with multiple data bases, I baught right away because we are 2 users of the same computer and thaught that since it had multiple user data bases that it would solve the problem but, NOT so!
5- Saving and restoring of data bases are confusing. First when you save it does not give a unique name to the data base when there are several users(DATA BASES) involved so you can imagine if you want to restore just 1 out of 3 or 4 users data bases the fun you will have with the trial and error method (hope U have lots of time and patience!!)

"Great App. Great Password Management system"
Version: Password Manager XP 2.1.331
Pros
Can customize each record's fields. Can Customize keyboard shortcuts now. Can create custom printing templates. Never crashes, and I use it in multiuser mode constantly. We have multiple large DB's and never had any problems. The install to removeable device wizard allows you to carry your passwords with you without worrying about security. The app will run right off your thumbdrive, encryption and all. Great log file of password changes each user has made, also encrypted. Has easy to use backup and restore functions as well.
Cons
The ability to encrypt files with a password record is still in Beta
