    "Excellent partitioning tools."

    June 1, 2006  |   By linxu2

    Version: Partition Logic 0.61

    Pros

This free program worked to delete a 17 GB partition and to resize a 30GB partition. Remember to burn the .iso image to a CD and use a wired mouse .

    Cons

    Better help files and support.

    "DISASTROUS!"

    May 25, 2006  |   By benft

    Version: Partition Logic 0.61

    Pros

    free, easy

    Cons

freezes up about 50% of the time.

after a few tries, I got it to VERY slowly start moving an NTFS partition. I left for a couple of hours, and returned to an error message: "page fault somethingorother", and it was frozen. 52% complete. Sure enough, about half the files in the partition were filled with null characters. HOSED!

MORAL: dodgy freeware has its place, but not for critical functions like partitioning.

"Great tool if you don't want to pay for partition software"

    May 24, 2006  |   By kmeixner

    Version: Partition Logic 0.61

    Pros

This program allows you to create a boot CD or boot floppy to create and format partitions on your hard drive. It's easy to use and gets the job done.

    Cons

This program is still under development and thus has a few bugs in it. Eg: When choosing a file format from a pop up list I could find no way to close the list and had to reboot and start over. It also does not support writing NTFS partitions yet. I suspect these issues will be resolved in a future release and despite some minor bugs that may cause you to have to restart it once or twice it is a very useful program.

"Did not run on my Laptop"

    May 21, 2006  |   By nobody.home

    Version: Partition Logic 0.61

    Pros

Easily and quickly creates boot CD (using 3rd party CD burner)

    Cons

Booted with a splash screen and progress bar that went nowhere. It did not like my hardware I suspect. No options, just sits there. Great idea, too bad it was not tested on a variety of machines.

"Good, but only if your computer likes it!"

    April 20, 2006  |   By foulks1982

    Version: Partition Logic 0.61

    Pros

The ISO Image version of the product downloaded seamlessly onto my 1.2GHz PC w/ 256MB RAM and 30 gig hard drive and I was able to burn the ISO onto a CD and run it without problems - on my own PC.

    Cons

This product seems to run only on a limited number of computers. I tried to start it on a 600Mhz Celeron computer and it responded with a "page fault" error. I also tried it on an older 500MHz AMD computer and the machine froze completely. I have had some past experience with Linux (this was created with Visopsys - a variant of Linux) and it may have been programmed to run only on certain computers. This may be a bug in the Visopsys kernel - the core of Linux-based systems. I hope that the next release will be more compatible with more computers, as the program interface is very promising.

"Finally a freeware! Worked flawlessly with vmware too"

    March 29, 2006  |   By nmfiber

    Version: Partition Logic 0.61

    Pros

I had a vmware partition of 15gb but then i needed more space to install more programs. I resized the vmware disk to 30 gb. Now i needed a program that will resize primary hard disk from within the guest operating system (windows xp in this case).

I first download the famous partition magic program but the demo version doesnt do anything.

I looked around the web and found that if I use Fedora linux boot disk, the installation program has a disk partition wizard which i can use to resize the partition. Unfortunately, the disk partition program doesnt allow resize for primary partition volume (may be command line works for this case, but i didnt want to take any chances)

So I came across partition logic. This program works like magic (it should be called partition magic ;). All i had to do was to burn the iso to a CD, then reboot the guest machine. The program loaded fine and then i clicked the resize button. It asked me, whether i want to resize "both partion and filesystem" or "filesystem only". I chose the first option and entered 30000m (for 30 gb). The program took about 10 mins to resize, and then gave me a message saying "Partion is readonly, cannot backup partition table". i just pressed ok and then rebooted the guest machine (and ejected the CD).

After restart, windows xp (guest os) scan disk utility automatically kicked in. I later verified that everything worked fine and Windows Explorer showed the additional free space.

Bravo and kudos to the ppl (or person) for making this app. It saved me $$$ (partition magic or similar products cost 50 bucks).

    Cons

Providing Helpful tips at various options/dialog boxes will be greatly appreciated.

    March 29, 2006  |   By bobwool

    Version: Partition Logic 0.61

    Pros

Burn the ISO image to a CD and boot the PC from CD (via BIOS boot sequence).

    Cons

XP Desktop: doesn't support USB mouse/kb so couldn't enter the program from splash screen after boot.

XP Laptop: froze at start of boot from CD, never got to splash screen for Partition Logic.

"Managed to "unlock" it, but still couldn't run it"

    March 12, 2006  |   By stewG

    Version: Partition Logic 0.61

    Cons

As previous reviewer said, unzipping produces an .iso file, which WinRAR will extract, but I couldn't find a readme, install, setup file or any executable file to actually run the program. Very strange
