"They break computers!!!! DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!"

    February 12, 2014  |   By j4beck

    Version: ParetoLogic Data Recovery 1.1

    Pros

    I can't think of any.

    Cons

I had an error message for 1 program and someone recommended downloading RegCure to fix the problem. From that you downoad some software but in order to fix the problem you need to pay $39 for software, which then leads you to having to call to authorize something. At which point they try to sell you a slew of services include monthly subscriptions and pc clean up services. For some reason I did decide to do the pc cleanup. They then hand you over to technicians for Paretologic. While they were servicing my computer the system froze or the internet dropped. I'm not sure. But I restarted the process with them about 6 times, 2 x on Friday and 4 times on Monday. Tuesday morning my computer would not even start. There was power but no information coming from the CPU. They gave me a refund but are unable to fix the computer. This is a terrible company and terbbile service. DO NOT USE THEM!!!!! It must be a scam of some sort or just a completely terrible service.

    Pros

hmmmm - let me think - its taken 2 years to cancel yearly subscription

    Cons

yearly subscription is very difficult to cancel even when you press the "decline " pop up you have to register an account with another company called safecart then go through their de registration procedures

by the way on aol any emails from safecart come up as spam

and by the way its not just me - do a google search for complaints

    "not trustworthy"

    December 2, 2011  |   By baileyrad

    Version: ParetoLogic Data Recovery 1.1

    Pros

Might retrieve files. Questionable. Time and memory intensive program which does not necessarily accomplish task.

    Cons

Expensive, $50, and it signs you up for a recurring fee every year when you buy it.

    Summary

Deceptive tactics. Recommend not to buy. There are free alternatives.

    "Saved Hundreds of Lost Images"

    May 5, 2011  |   By skentros

    Version: ParetoLogic Data Recovery 1.1

    Pros

Saved all image formats including DNG, CR2, jpg, PSD files. I tried using several other recovery programs, but they didn't work, except PhotoRec, which has a difficult interface and does not retain file names. ParetoLogic has a nice user interface.

    Cons

    It's not free.

    Summary

    This product saved me.
