    November 27, 2009  |   By dgunnard

    Version: ParetoLogic Anti-Virus Plus 6.0

    Pros

none after 3 months of struggling!

    Cons

Worthless and 3 months of trouble- virus and trojans had no problems getting in.

    Summary

CNET- should be ashamed that we trusted you to promote software after it was tested- obviously not in this case!

"Paretologic is not what they claim"

    October 22, 2009  |   By Richard3001

    Version: ParetoLogic Anti-Virus Plus 6.0

    Pros

none stay far away from this stuff

    Cons

I think Cnet.com has to be a little more cautious about who they allow in here. This scam is not totally deletable, and pop ups occur for literally months after you have deleted the program.

    Summary

Stay FAR away from anything they promote.

"Not free - won't remove stuff it found unless you pay"

    October 3, 2009  |   By 80 rods

    Version: ParetoLogic Anti-Virus Plus 6.0

    Pros

Says it found lots of stuff

    Cons

Not free - it won't remove stuff it found unless you pay. It didn't find 3 viruses that Avira did half an hour later. Not only that, despite removing it, I get an annoying pop-up box that says it can't find a dll file.

    Summary

Why would you get this and pay for it if the free AVs are better?

"Removed Keylogger and Others Missed by Regular Security"

    May 6, 2009  |   By AB6731

    Version: ParetoLogic Anti-Virus Plus 6.0

    Pros

Catches things missed by my regular anti-virus program. =D

    Cons

    The scan is pretty slow

Program updates interrupt and minimize online gaming, which is one of the main reason I got rid of Norton. In all fairness I intend to see if there is an option I can select to allow automatic updates w/o asking my permission

    Summary

I gave up Norton long ago in favor of PC Tools Spyware Dr. w/ Antivirus and I must say I am generally satisfied with that product. Recently I noticed that my laptop had been running slowly, the CPU was maxed and running hard all the time, I was getting pop ups and pages were not loading correctly. One day I received an e-mail from Pareto Logic (I am an existing user if their Reg-Cure product) regarding a free scan and removal of the conficker worm. I decided to run it just as a benchmark. Not only did it find the keylogger that PC Tools had pinged (upon activation) but was unable to find on scan, it fully removed an adware program associated with a toolbar I had been unable to fully uninstall, a browser hijacker, and one lovely bug that was giving access to a remote user, hence the CPU being maxed. All issues were resolved with that first scan and I feel better about resuming online banking and such. Yes, I had to pay for removal of those infections, but what is that small price compared to potential losses from compromised online banking security?

    "Bunch of BS artists"

    April 29, 2009  |   By Mischief5877

    Version: ParetoLogic Anti-Virus Plus 6.0

    Pros

    Hmmm let me see...... Nothing!!!!!

    Cons

It's a con with the free scan and pay for download. Finds stuff that is not really there.

    Summary

Sent me an email ad about free scanning for the Conficker virus. Thought it would be an online scan, but starts downloading a huge Anti virus program, so I let it continue. Finally it scanned my pc and found a bunch of stuff that AVG allegedly missed including Mirar toolbar. I Never had Mirar toolbar at all - I think I would have noticed it by now (read the reviews on it). Dont believe a thing Paretologic says now. Free scan, pay for removal. It's a con. Seems the scan is easy enough - although slow. No further comments as it's already uninstalled and I have unsubscribed from their mailing list. To hell with them.

"Product no so good.. Sound more like hype !"

    Summary

I went to several web sites looking for a better viral software than the Norton product that I had been using. In general the description of the product supplied sounded really good. Consumersoftwarereview site seem to rank the product quite highly, and for the cost and the supposed level of deep protection it provided there was no reason for me not to trial it.

Before downloading the product, I read the above negative reviews from other consumers and decided to reserve judgement and trail the services, as the descriptions did sound promising.

In summary, after un-installing my original viral ware, and installing Perentallogic, my high powered laptop, began to run very slowly. The installion did not seem to complete it self properly, and even after giving a few hours to update the database, the product still did not function properly.

As a consequence of the I cannot comment on the grand functions, as the software did even get to the stage of functioning.

My advice to the manufacture of this service is. Make it easier, and do more testing, as this experience has been a waste of time.

Just went to back to Norton, not the best but at least it installs within minutes..

"Flagged many required programs as dangerous"

    March 27, 2009  |   By armedandsafe

    Version: ParetoLogic Anti-Virus Plus 6.0

    Pros

XP-Pro SP3 on IBM T40 Seems to run a very thorough check. Caught all the cookies I knew were there. Ran over 2 hours on a 23Gb system.

Each item flagged has a "details" tab, which will tell you if it is truely malicious.

    Cons

Flagged manufacturer installed PC Doctor as malicious. Flagged several MS updates as malicious. Flagged segments of the operating system as malicious.
Slowed my system down to 3 minutes to bring up control panel etc. Boot now took 7 min was3 min

    Summary

With all the valid programs and segments which it was willing to delete, I can't trust it.

    "The best pay anti-virus"

    September 14, 2008  |   By urbryan58

    Version: ParetoLogic Anti-Virus Plus 6.0

    Pros

This found even serious bugs others I tried missed. A massive database. Will not allow malware to enter while on internet. For those who do regular internet, bad nude or celebrity sites it will stop. Great support team that will reply.

    Cons

Will not work with other anti-virus programs. Must uninstall other programs before downloading Paretologic. Advised to purchase before downloading to prevent license quirck. Wants to self update rather than manual very much.

    Summary

No, I don't work for them but this is my favorite. I switched to Paretologic from PC Tools and Mcafee because I knew something was on my system. Paretologic found dialers out the yin-yang as well as serious cookies. I also have Paretologic's Xoftspy anti-spyware which is scan and remove only, not real time. They say I didn't need it because I have the anti-virus plus but I like it and want to make sure.
