"Quick and simple but then ..."
Pros: Great start. Blocks common cuss words and redirects you before you even finish typing them in to a search field or address bar.
Cons: When I tried to use the exclusions list (so I could get back to xxx blockers, which is how I found the Parental Filter software on Download.com, I couldn't figure out how to do it. Every time I tried to add an exclusion the program would quit on me. Don't know how to fix that. Ok. So we just don't make exclusions? It'll be hard to stay in business on the web that way!

"Has potential, but .2 version is flakey"
Pros: It did seem to block most test sites and even stops google searches (I guess based on keywords being submitted). It has lots of install options, like running as a service and various methods of preventing detection or uninstall.
Cons: It blocks too much, in fact it was flakey enough that I had to remove the program from my computer. I think it has potential, maybe by the 1.0 release they will have the kinks worked out. But it was blocking lots of my google searches that had nothing to do with porn. The weird thing is that sometimes rerunning the search works without blocking. Not sure what it going on there. Also it sometimes flashes a blocked site up first before redirecting - kind of weird.

Pros: It's free
Cons: Doesn't always work. When it does work, it still shows the site long enough to see it before redirecting you. I think I'm going to get one that I have to pay for.
