Version: Paragon Partition Manager Express 9.0
"run as fast as you can from paragon"
Pros: seems to work at first
Cons: DANGEROUS!!! Stay far away from anything from paragon. If your reading reviews, don't take my word for it, just go to the forums on their own site and look at the support areas.
Summary: After purchasing hard disk manager from their website, I was then told that you can only get US based support if you purchase from third party sellers. So you get a lesser product when purchasing. And if you are unfortunate enough to purchase, you WILL need their support, most likely for their help getting this junk uninstalled. It replaces operating system dll's with their own versions which causes consistent blue screens of death. After that, you'll really regret it because your drives are getting close to being unusable. Here is a copy of the final mail I sent to both their support and sales teams. "So that you're aware of the history of this. I first purchased HDM and shortly after started experiencing problems that indicated my hard drive was about to crash. I replaced the drive, and did a complete reinstall of everything to get a clean environment (I'm a software developer, rebuilding a machine takes days). Immediately after I installed HDM I started getting the BSODs. Then my external hard drive became unreadable with permanently lost data - unfortunate. Then I started getting the same indications this new hard drive in my development machine was going south. Since this drive is only a couple of months old (the amount of time I've been fighting HDM) i did some advanced diagnostics on both it as well as the old drive. There is nothing physically wrong with either drive. Another complete wipe of the drive and complete reinstall was necessary to get rid of HDM. I lost another few days. Since then ---- my computer is once again rock solid and stable. I would recommend that you guys find your problems and fix them --- I would even say that your product should be pulled off of the market until then. "
