Publisher's Description
From NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies:
Panoply is a cross-platform Java application which plots raster images of globally gridded netCDF datasets. It features select from a menu of over 30 global map projections, slice specific 2D arrays from multidimensional arrays which also have dimensions in latitude, longitude, altitude, and time, combine two arrays in one plot by differencing, summing or averaging, draw continents outlines or overlays on lon-lat plot, apply any PAL, ACT, or CWC color table to plot scale, and save plots to disk in PDF, PS, PNG, or GIF format.
What's new in this version: Version 3.1.1 includes improvement to handling of auxiliary lon-lat grids with longitude values straddling ±180°E, reduced time for initial scan of data by up to 75%, which significantly reduced time to create plot window if array is extremely large, and support of local GRIB-1 table lookup lists.
