Pros
I've tried many different versions of PSP but this one is by far the best. Easy to use with TONS of tools!

"Quite Possibly the best out there."
Version: Paint Shop Pro 10.0
Pros
Jasc made great software. Corel makes it better.
PSP9 was great, PSP10 is 10x better!

"Absolutely Awesome"

It is really good for amateurs as it has an all time help in the side which explains about each of its features when you click on them and also tells how to use them also.. Very easy to use interface

"Paint Shop Pro was top notch, and Corel made it Even better!"
Version: Paint Shop Pro 10.0
Pros
If there was ever an underrated product, it must have been Paint Shop Pro. This is the king of shareware. It does 95% of what photoshop does, at 20% the price.
When Corel acquired Jasc, I was afraid they were going to mess it up in the next revision, inflating the price or adding obscure tools, but they did quite the opposite. Paint Shop Pro is finally starting to find it's market niche. It is so easy to use that a novice can get started within minutes, but so complete that there is pretty much nothing photoshop can do and Paint Shop can't. This product will grow with you, for years.
Cons
The One-Click wizards are designed as "one size fits all" solutions. This isn't that much of a problem since you can replicate the effects with the more advanced tools and then customize them, but then that does take a little from the user friendliness.

"The best PSP yet"
Version: Paint Shop Pro 10.0
Pros
If you're not using Photoshop and you're an advanced user, you will really want to use Paint Shop Pro X. If you're new to it, you must immerse yourself in its interface and study the Help file for a while, but it will be time well spent. Paint Shop Pro X will let you do virtually anything you can imagine. Better, you can now do some truly sophicated correction and enhancement work with this version. Another thing is that I was surprised Corel kept the price down. That's good!
Cons
If you're new, the learning curve is quite steep, and its text feature, while flexible, is aggravating to use.

"They release too many versions too fast."
Version: Paint Shop Pro 10.0
Pros
Have not improvef that much.
Cons
I updated version 7.0 to 8.0 about 18 months age and updated 8.0 to 9.0 3 months ago. Now they want me to update to 10.0. That's just too much too fast. I should have stuck with 7.0. It was almost as good.

"PSP X is easier to use than previous versions"
Version: Paint Shop Pro 10.0
Pros
The Learning Centre instructions are great, and so too are the new buttons, such as Toothbrush, Tan etc.
Cons
As a UK user, I'm annoyed that the price to upgrade is $30 more than the US, and the Lynda.com facility mentioned by an earlier reviewer, doesn't come with the European package.

"Great value, great support option"
Version: Paint Shop Pro 10.0
Pros
Lynda.com comes with the product (free) when you download it from the Correl page. I got it as an upgrade for $55.00. Lynda.com has 300 MB of video clips on how to use many of the features. These are fantastic for those who do not have a lot of experience with photo editing.
I upgraded earlier from version 8 to version 9 and it was not worth it. I was hesitant to get version 10 because I was disappointed with what version 9 did but I upgraded anyway hoping that Correl would have done some major enhancements. They did! Version 10 is a huge improvement in interface, capabilities, and with Lynda.com video's in support.
Cons
I want all programs to work faster. There are substantial speed improvements over version 9, but it is not impressively fast. I'm running a medium level graphics card and a couple year old AMD CPU with 1 gb of ran.
