"Very powerful features, easier than you'd think to figure em out!"
Version: Paint Shop Pro 10.0
Pros
I love the "Straighten" tool - When I scan a picture (in my case, I scan the covers of all my favorite audio CDs), the image is never properly oriented. With PaintShopPro, you can zoom in on an area of the cover art that 'should' be perfectly horizontal, and drag the line from one side of it to the other, and then click the check button, and viola! The trail time is extremely long, too! Once it expires, you can actually click "Extend trial time" and you get something like a whole 'nother month!!!!! Totally cool :)

"Wonderful program but where is Windows 98?"
Version: Paint Shop Pro 10.0
Pros
I use the previous version all the time, great program, expecially the one step photo correct.
Cons
Windows 98 no longer supported, bummer.

"Ruined by Corel"
Version: Paint Shop Pro 10.0
Pros
I like nothing about it, compared to PSP 9 and earlier versions
Cons
the browse facilty has been ruined espcially. Used to be the best thing about PSP. It is also so slow.

"Wont even install"
Version: Paint Shop Pro 10.0
Pros
Not had chance to find any
Cons
Wont install on my Dual Core Windows x64 system, even though PSP8 works perfectly.
Not only will it not install (it hangs on registering modules) it wont cancel installation so I had to crash my system to get it to stop. I dont know what it is doing when it fails but it doing nothing takes up 50% of my computer usage.
Very disappointed

"Paint Shop Pro X: Great, if you shoot "RAW""
Version: Paint Shop Pro 10.0
Pros
Paint Shop Pro X (10.0) is a big improvement compared to Paint Shop Pro 9 for the most part. Unlike PS9, PSX is tailored to the digital RAW image shooters, commonly found on the digital SLR cameras and high-end prosumer cameras, without breaking the bank as professional Adobe Photoshops series does. It also provides more customizing flexibility than that of consumer-level Adobe Photoshop Elements. RAW shooters can find the included "Raw Shooters Essentials" to pre-process the RAW image and save to a .TIF file, then process the photo in Paint Shop. PSX is also designed for the photographers who are willing to customize the photos at their own taste rather than depending on the program's "one-step" features. Of course, program users can also create their own automated processes by using the batch process recorder. A new key feature is the high pass filter, a more efficient and better way to sharpen photos. Many features on PS X are flexible for customizing, from appearance and menu animation (you can shut that off or leave it on at your preference), the option to preprocess your RAW image or just go straight to the "editor", to histogram and task history, with the ability to undo one task anywhere in the lineup or multiple tasks. Paint Shop Pro X is advanced, like PS8 and PS9 so comparing it to the nearly automated PhotoShop Elements is almost out of the question, but compared to PhotoShop CE, Paint Shop will not break your bank.
Cons
Paint Shop Pro X has its drawbacks, from speed to practicality. Opening and saving images from the browser window has sloed down a bit. The user manual, once filled with wealth of information and examples, has shrunk down to the straight-to-the-point, step-by-step on how to get to a function, leaving you having to experiment with the rest to tweak the settings to achieve the best results (that could be a positive thing, however you look at it). PS9 users who have the habit of using keyboard shortcuts to a command might find some shortcuts have changed, such as the shortcut to the command for rotating images. It does take some learning, but you will also need to experiment with it a little bit with your photographs to achieve optimal results, thanks to the trimmed-down manual.

"Why make an excellent program harder to use???"
Version: Paint Shop Pro 10.0
Pros
Paint Shop Pro by Jasc has always been a top notch program. In my opinion, it's the best of the lower priced alternatives to Photoshop. I've been using it Daily for my work since Version 6 in 2000 and always ordered new versions Pre-release. It's easy to learn and has just about every tool I need.
Version 10 is still solid, and has the tools I need but...
Cons
There are a few major disappointments I have for PSP 10.
The User interface: Sure it's prettier, but I don't have time for pretty. The background color is light compared to the neutral grey of past versions making it hard to find things quickly. The Tools have been stylized and brightened also to the point that it's very hard to distinguish one button from another. There is just no contrast so you have to search.
The layer palette has been changed for the worse too. Version 9 and earlier have nice compact layer "strips" with all the controls contained on that strip. Now there are big bright hulking layers, some of the controls are no longer contained on each strip. What a pain to try to use when you have 50+ layers going on a project!! I can no longer scan down through the layers easily and view my transparency and other settings for quick adjustments!! I need to work quickly and efficiently and this version has slowed me down to such an extreme that I'm back to working with PSP version 9.
Before I installed version 10, I advised a friend to get PSP when they asked about digital editors. I'm sorry I didn't tell them to find a remaining copy of version 9.
This person is an older man, and has trouble distinguishing the tool buttons and the layers because of the brightness and the new style of the interface.
This will be the last time I'll preorder PSP. If Corel wants to mess with the interface, it should keep the professional user and the elderly user in mind. A great program with great tools is no good to me if the interface slows me down.
I'm staying with PSP 9, then moving on to Photoshop.

"Great for all Graphic and Photo editing users"
Version: Paint Shop Pro 10.0
Pros
Fantastic advanced and novice user product with countless great features. Take some time to learn how to use the features and you wont be disappointed.
Also i am running an nVidia Geforce 7900GTX and a dual core AMD processor and i have not had any problems at all with the program, i think it was a problem with the graphic card drivers NOT PSP X.
I have never used PSP older versions so cant vouch for weather this version is better or worse but so far i love it!
Cons
Doesnt seem to have a line or curve drawing tool but i might not have found it, and even so i can do everything i need to do from creating graphics from scratch to editing my digital photos! It is a little slow to load but nothing drastic at least on my system.
Im still on the trial but will be purchasing.

Cons
I have nothing to say.

"Poor hardware problem flagging"
Version: Paint Shop Pro 10.0
Pros
Nothing since it would not load on my AMD Athon64 dual core, nVidia 7800GT system.
Cons
When you buy a product you expect to be told what the hardware requirements are to run the product. In this case a know issue with nVidia drivers was never exposed during the purchase process which I felt merits this low rating. Customer support was postive; at least they responded but basically it was wait until nVidia fixed the problem or roll back your drives to some 70 series. While I haven't tried it yet, nVidia has released a beta driver (84.20) that in the release notes says it fixes the dual core/7800 problem. If there is a brave soul out there who has found this works, it would be great to know.
