    "Very useful!"

    January 25, 2004  |   By Rainer Brockerhoff

This is a well-designed and useful app. You can use it to reinstall parts of the system, or check what gets installed where... if you distrust applications distributed as .pkg files, this is invaluable.

well, my bank account is down to almost zero, but as soon as my checks clear i'll give this guy the $20 because i too have been saved by this program. i accidentally deleted print center when wanting to remove and reinstall the epson drivers for my 2200 and was starting to panic. i did NOT want to reinstall the whole OS. pacifist let me extract the print center app ONLY from the apple restore / install dvd and drag it into my utilities folder. all works as new, well, better than new because i still have all of my own files and apps on the computer, b/c, as i said, i din't need to reinstall the OS. thanks! good app name too, for these sad, ridiculous months . . .

    "I deleted DVD Player..."

    November 12, 2003  |   By Maplevolt

    Version: Pacifist 1.6

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
from Jaguar because it started crashing after I put the SuperDrive in the lower bay of my MDD. When I upgraded to Panther - still no DVD Player. I was getting sick of VLC and could find no other way to install Apple's DVD Player. Then I found out about Pacifist.
I was able to get DVD Player set up on the Mac while I was getting ready for work - it's that easy.
(BTW, I had switched back the SuperDrive long ago!)

    "YES! Panther support finally!"

    October 29, 2003  |   By CV.

    Version: Pacifist 1.6

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I can't tell you for how long I've been waiting for this update!

I've been using Panther since the WWDC and Pacifist was not compatible with it.

Imagine how great was my need that I had to actually learn how to use the command line tools Pacifist uses in order to accomplish the same from the Terminal! And trust me, it isn't pretty!

So now that Pacifist supports Panther, that means there is no more fiddling around with the Terminal, no more mysterious .pkg installers, just pure joy and happiness!

Thanks for making my life easier! <sheds a tear>

"Fixes bad Address Books with speed"

    September 6, 2003  |   By anneg6226

    Version: Pacifist 1.5.3

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I'm in no way a tech person when it comes to Mac (former PC user), so when my mail wouldn't work because my address book wouldn't participate, I was lost. The discussion boards led me to Pacifist and I'm happy to say 1 minute download 5 minute search & fix and I'm back in the saddle! Now that's quick recovery, so I was happy to pay $ for that. No 'on hold' waiting for support.

I'm on a spouse-limited budget. Since I've only needed this tool once in the last year I find $20 a steep price. It is a very good tool, however, if you have a frequent need.

This is some fine work. This product and developer rule! Forget about PeLa. Check out his feedback history! It isn't a question of the glass being half empty or full for him, it's totally empty!
