Version: PSPad editor 4.5.2 (2241)
"best free programming editor around"
Pros: lightweight, very good syntax and brackets highlighting, code completion for (at least) PHP, JScript, CSS and HTML, and all the functionalities you'd expect from a programmer's editor.
If you don't need the visual part of the Dreamweaver editor (and you could still use NVU for that), it's a very good alternative
Cons: closes quotes and tags automatically, making it sometimes a bit frustrating when you're editing PHP or Jscript.
