"Worked only the first time!"
Version: PS3 Media Server 1.20.409b
Pros
Would work great, if I could use it more than once
Cons
It only worked the first time I tried.
Summary
I tried this twice. BOTH times, I was super excited to have all my media on my tv through my ps3. However, after shutting off my ps3 or my computer, I was never able to get the program to work again. After this happened the first time, I uninstalled and downloaded again, only to have the same exact thing happen again. Anyone know of a better program that actually works?

"Easy to use with Mac thanks to CNET "how to" video"
Version: PS3 Media Server 1.20.409b
Pros
Small File Size.
Tabbed, Easy to Follow GUI
Quick Connections and LoadingCons
Would be complicated without CNET "how to" video instructions
File structure on PS3 looks clunky
No video or album art on PS3Summary
This works very well on a Mac, but as an Apple TV user, I'm not sure if there is a reason to stream on my PS3 instead. I love having a media server and if you don't have an Apple TV, check this out - it's a fun and functional tool.

"Great software that does its job."
Version: PS3 Media Server 1.20.409b
Pros
Streams most files. Playback on my PS3 is great. Music streaming is magical. Great sound.
Cons
Stream of websites still need working on.
Summary
Great free software to have for Mac users to stream to their PS3. Through future updates it can only get better. This software is a must have.

"Requires Java 1.6+... doesnt work with 32-bit macs"
Version: PS3 Media Server 1.20.409b
Pros
Works well on the right computers
Cons
doesn't work with anything under java 1.6, so 32-bit macs won't work with the application

"PS3 Media Server"
Version: PS3 Media Server 1.20.409b
Pros
great!... In theory. The first time I tried it, my iMac found my PS3 and I was lov'in life.
Cons
It only worked once. I tried10 times. Even downloading it again. Nothing worked. The software was never able to see my PS3. I kept getting the error message: java.lang.out of memory. error. I found different software that worked.
Summary
did not work for me.

"Couldn't get video working"
Version: PS3 Media Server 1.20.409b
Pros
Great with audio. Can listen to my iTunes collection on my Sony Bravia TV
Cons
Videos wouldn't work on the TV. Got the message #--TRANSCODDE--# for each format video I tried. Instructions said "should work straight out of the box, if not try this .." which I did but it still didn't work.
Summary
If I had a deep technical knowledge of video formats, encoding etc I could probably work out how to do it but if it doesn't work first time it's no use for me. Can't complain too much as it's free.

"Sweeeeeet!"
Version: PS3 Media Server 1.20.409b
Pros
Wireless Play of my Itunes Library- just want I wanted! Awesome and Easy to set up.
Cons
Zilch-Nada-Nothing
-
"Surprisingly Awesome!"
Version: PS3 Media Server 1.20.409b
Pros
It's simple, it allows my PS3 to play music from my computer that's across the room. No need for wires or putting some program on a flash drive and uploading it onto the PS3. I love its simplicity.
Cons
It took a little trial and error to figure it out, but nothing to complain about. The audio quality isn't the best, but it still works. Plus there's a couple of annoying videos on you tube to help explain it.
I haven't tried it on other devices yet.Summary
Why not? It's better than putting a bunch of music directly on the PS3 that takes up space.
I would recommend this to a friend, family, and lover.
However I feel someone needs to have little understanding or sense of technology, but if you already own a PS3, computer, etc then you'll figure it out. -
"Fantastically good - especially at the price!"
Version: PS3 Media Server 1.20.409b
Pros
Don't be fooled by the name, this freeware Java DLNA server works with many different devices. Will automatically find any device it can talk to on the network, and stream media from your mac.Transcoding looks excellent - better than the PS3 itself.
Cons
It would be nice to have aspect ratio control within the software interface. Other than that, can't wait to see what the next build holds
Summary
Great product. The development team have cracked the nut of producing a simple DLNA server that just works well without the user needing to be a computer scientist. Full marks!
