Version: PPL Pocket Programming Language 1.23
"Product is powerful & innovative, but customer purchase protection is sub-par"
Pros: Code runs on both PC and PPC platforms and is programmable from both platforms. Reasonable price (if you're willing to gamble on the current release). Pre-sale support was pretty good - not quite as detailed as I wanted, but better than most. Has some good features from both C and Basic.
Cons: Has some minor flaws you're likely to take some time to discover, or may never encounter. This could be a source for concern. I have just learned the hard way that new releases are only provided to customers at a reduced rate for 5 DAYS(!) after your initial purchase. It easily takes this long to "get a feel" for any new language, let alone to discover things you might need to work around without a fix. I'm not willing to plunk down another $99.00 for some fixes that were obviously in the works when I purchased this product less than four weeks ago. You might request the next release date from the vendor in advance of your purchase and coordinate to be within the window or just wait for the release prior to purchase. This is, however, considered a predatory deal-killer in my shop.
