The Rudradhyaya invokes Lord Shankara and makes an appeal for His blessings:
The Rudra is a Stotra- a prayer- devoted to Lord Shankara! The Rudra or Rudradhyaya is a group of Mantras composed of two segments with individual importance. The first segment of the Sookta is termed as Namaka because of the frequent occurrence of the syllable Nama. The other section, owing to the repeated incidence of the letters Cha Me, is known as Chamaka.
The Rudradhyaya evokes its all-inclusive powers when it is chanted. Meditating by uttering the Rudradhyaya is extremely potent in removing all the evil forces in the environment; aadding zest and happiness to life. Meditation means a conscious recitation of a Mantra, being aware of its true meaning and indication. By opening up the mind to logical clarity and pure thoughts, the Rudradhyaya allows positive thoughts to influence the mind. Listening to the chanting of this prayer too is effective, as is the actual recitation and meditation.
May the Divine power of the Rudradhyaya help you realize your true strengths.
