"It works great if you go manual mode."
Version: PDF2PageTurn 1.1
Pros
It works, converts a PDF to a HTML web page which page turns.
Advanced mode gives more options.
Export output t to folders
Can adjust quality vs filesize for output.
Can adjust exported files manually before you upload.
Add your own link back to your website in the toolbar.
Multiple languages in toolbar.Cons
Basic interface can be a little confusing.
Automatic upload not great.Summary
I think this may have had trouble before but the latest version does what it says, that is takes a PDF and converts it to a web page.I was a little confused at first, my conversions werent that great and I had some trouble uploading. But quick email to support sorted me out.
The secret is that there is an advanced mode which gives more hidden options like manual export and the ability to adjust quality, change toolbar link and even option to change the language in the toolbar like english, spanish, chinese and japanese. I'm not sure why the developers choose to hide them there. I think that they great and should have been out in front.
Exporting, means the program just exports the converted web files a folder. BTW - this is not the same files as the ones the program creates previews to show you after conversion.
You can also manually adjust these files (HTML and images) using another program. I discovered that I could improve image quality even more or replace the images all together this way. Afterwards, you can manually upload the files to your web server using FTP or something. The program creates an index.html for you in the folder. I prefer this much more anyway over the automatic system, at least I can see what what is happening. The developers have some association with the ecatalog.com website so you can upload your catalog to there for free.
I brought this cheap while it was on sale, so I wasnt expecting much. But overall, I was surprised at how good it was once you work out its little quirks. I was churning out PDFs like crazy after a few minutes. Check out the samples on the developer website first to what it can do. The output file even works on ipads and iphones web browsers.
Definitely worth it if you are in the web or publishing business and this type of output is what you are looking for. Even better whenever they have it on sale for cheap. Recommended. -
"Files will not work when uploaded"
Version: PDF2PageTurn 1.1
Pros
none at this point
Cons
I can not get this program to work online.
It keeps saying "loading".Summary
Purchased product 11/2009, but did not need it until recently. Computer went down and I had to reinstall it. I have been trying to use it to put my students lessons online, but it does not work. I have sent 5 emails to the company and have even filled out their form. Sill no response. They are in Australia and I am in the US. You might have better luck if you have a problem and live in Australia.
