"Good conversions now"
Version: PDF2Office 2.0
Summary

Version 1.x was poor, but version 2.0 has been good for me with the first few tests on my technical documents, including PDF versions of Powerpoint presentations. It now does a better job than Adobe Acrobat. This price is a bit high, unles you need to use it every day. -
"PDF2Office Pro Demo won't install"
Version: PDF2Office 2.0

Version 1 was a disaster, but I was willing to try Version 2. But the installer gets to the Accept/Decline License window, and the Accept button is grayed out. Dead end. -
"Screw up your PDFs at ease!"
Version: PDF2Office 1.0.3
Summary

If you want to make bad Office documents from your fine PDFs, this software does a great job! If you have to much money left, buy this one, too!
It totally messes up German Umlauts ant the sharp s (beta-shaped s), it also inserts spaces after the first character of certain words (not always but sometimes) and it is not able to always create editable text. It just mixes up texts and images as one image though).
The documents I converted were not useful for further editing in Word. Copy'n Paste from Preview or Acrobat is simply more straightforward than editing in a scattered document.
ADVISE: Keep your hands off! -
"Not useful and overpriced"
Version: PDF2Office 1.0
Summary

Conversions that I tried produced jumbles of words, blocks of type and images. Can't really imagine much of a market, at this price, for the results. -
"Doesn't work"
Version: PDF2Office 1.0
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
1. Failed to convert 1st PDF attempted (error -3). It was all text, no graphics or tables.
2. Second PDF attempted produced a useless conversion: spaces between words disappeared throughout the document and graphics were incorrectly converted (e.g. black lines against white background became white against black background).
3. Cannot drag and drop a PDF onto the Finder icon or onto the Dock icon. Must drag into program window (or use file open).
This sofware is so crude that it will be much easier and more accurate for people to cut and paste text from PDF into Word. Didn't test it on password protected PDF files: quality of conversion is so bad that it would probably be faster and more accurate to have someone retype the document and scan the printed images back into the computer.
