"New releases are getting worst"

May 24, 2006  |  By certdb2dba

 |  Version: PDF ReDirect 2.1.11

Pros

Love it when it works.

Cons

THIS REVIEW APPLIES TO THIS RELEASE ONLY. If I rename the PDF printer, it stops working. Also after several prints, it stops working and complains that I don't have enough memory. Ludicrous! I am running a monster multimedia AMD64 PC with 2GB of physical memory. I went back to using version 2.0.16. It's a little slow but reliable.

"Great substitute for creating scans in PDF"

June 07, 2007  |  By kaguilar86

 |  Version: PDF ReDirect 2.1.11

Pros

I just needed a program to make scans into PDF's and this was the only one I found that could do that AND for free.

Cons

You kind of have to play around with it to get what you want, but you CAN get it.

"Good application - Works very well with ppt files"

June 05, 2007  |  By cturner24

 |  Version: PDF ReDirect 2.1.11

Pros

This is a good product - I was sceptical of the functionality of a free program. My main interest was in converting large power-point files that contain images and graphics so I could email them. I've been very impressed so far. The program works very well, it's simple to use and the quality of reproduction is very high - frankly as good as the original file from what I can see. I'm not a 'techy' who needs many features or can interpret the subtle differences in quality between the various different pdf creators on the market. I needed something that was simple to use, quick, and did what it claimed - that's it...and it does just this. Whilst apparently it MAY not have the whistles and bells of commercial programs - I don't even know what these are and wouldn't use them anyway - it does convert my ppt files exceptionally well and I'm grateful to the creators for making it freely available. Not tried it yet with Word docs, but really cannot see this being an issue given what I've converted so far.

Cons

Being objective, I really do not see any down-sides; it does exactly what it says it does.

"Not For Me"

May 26, 2007  |  By HawaiianEye

 |  Version: PDF ReDirect 2.1.11

Pros

The program loaded up fast.

Cons

This was not the type of program that I was looking for. I needed an alternative to Adobe Reader. I could not find a button to open the documents to a large workable size. I could however see thumbnails along the right hand side of the program window. After trying to figure this program out for about 20 minutes. I gave up and removed the program from my system. I use FireFox for my browser and found a great program on the download.com website called Foxit PDF Reader 2. No problems with that one. It opened up my pdf's instantly. I was shocked since in the past I had been used to waiting for all of the dll's to load with the Adobe Reader program. Sorry guys (the developer of PDF ReDirect) you will need to make your interface a little easier to understand.

"WORKS AS ADVERTIZED AND IT'S FREE!"

May 08, 2007  |  By TrackSnakeLA

 |  Version: PDF ReDirect 2.1.11

Pros

Needed a utility to convert files to PDF from MS Word or ACT! 6 word processing files. PDF reDirect worked easily, installed easily. It even worked on ACT! 6 when Acrobut 7 Standard wouldn't! Get this: after being an Adobe Acrobut user for YEARS, and my licensed version 7 Standard kept crashing repeatedly after repeated installationS. Now, I've got a PDF creator that WORKS. Adobe, you can eat my shorts with extra hoisin sauce if you think I'll pay $40 for a single tech support call.

Cons

The GUI's a little goofy-lookin but kinda geekoid-cute. But it works and it's free. So what'dya want for nuthin'???? A RUBBBAAA BISSSKITT!!!???
