Version: PDF Helper 1.01
"a total hack - but it's great for what it does"
Pros: The best app for merging PDFs, bar none.
Cons: Splitting and merging is all it does, and there's always renaming of files to be done. Interface is well . . . Same thing the other reviews said. (That screen shot is hilarious, by the way, CNet.)
Summary: PDF Helper is the easiest utility (even more so than Acrobat) for combining a bunch of PDFs into one big PDF. With Acrobat, you have to "merge" or "insert" or whatever for each individual PDF, and that takes time. PDF merges them all in like 2 seconds. Bango.
If you can get over the hack-ish nature of the interface (gift horse, mouth, etc.) then this is a must-have for anyone who does a lot of PDF scanning.
