"Use Realmagic drivers instead"
Version: PC-DVD Encore Dxr3 Drivers for Windows 95/98/NT 4.0 (03/29/2000)
Summary
Introduction Everybody these days owns either a Hollywood Plus card or a Dynamic Extended Resolution 3 (DXR3) Card. Basically DXR3 and Hollywood Plus are the same card! DXR3 is an OEM of Hollywood Plus, manufactured by Sigmadesigns and flashed with Creative's BIOS to be detected as DXR3. The benefit of having a DXR3 card over a Hollywood Plus card is that you can choose which drivers to use, Creative's or Sigmadeisns'. Under Windows 2000, the best drivers to use for DXR3 are the Sigmadesigns Hollywood Plus drivers. this guide will explain how to install Hollywood Plus drivers on a DXR3 Card under Windows 2000. Installing Drivers Nothing special about installing the drivers. Download the Hollywood Plus drivers from here and install them as you install any other driver. Installing Software (DVD Station and Zone Selector) This is the tricky part. Sigmadesigns doesn't seem to want DXR3 users to use it's drivers but rather Creative's drivers. so what did they do? their installer program seeks the EEPROM (which is the BIOS chip) which ofcourse it can't find on a DXR3 card. so here's what we'll do. Download the software from here and download an altered SETUP.INS from here. extract the software files into a temporary directory, and overwrite our new SETUP.INS on the old one that came with the software. run SETUP.EXE, the software will install fine. Also, DVD Station - the player - checks for the EEPROM too, so we need to bypass that. how? simple! Download Zone Selector from here and run it. "Zero support for Win2k"
Version: PC-DVD Encore Dxr3 Drivers for Windows 95/98/NT 4.0 (03/29/2000)
Summary
Creative Labs still has all Dxr3 products' Windows 2000 drivers listed as TBA. Any product using the Dxr3 card is useless on Windows 2000. The problem may actually be with the mfg of the decoder chips but Creative is not talking.
