Version: Oversight System Sentinel 3.1
"Light on Resources, but functionality is lacking"
Pros: Very light on resources
Quick Scan of registry, memory and now I forget, but the typical third one
Easy to use
Will scan with a schedule, some vendors say they work and then they don't
Cons: Somehow it started to ask me for the CD for an install - this after I downloaded the solution and was using it without a problem for three days. The error message was always the same and always asked for the CD, eventually it went to their spyware screen and it was fine. Two big issues for me:
1. You cannot do a full deep scan of your system - i.e. no deep scan of all files on C or D or both for that matter.
2. Ran the scan a first time and the baby showed over 300 objects of spyware, even though ad-aware showed only one and ashampoo showed only one. I deleted the objects - sent to quarantine. Then I looked in the quarantine, nothing there. Next day, run a scan and guess what? Over 300 objects found and amazingly the same ones as the day before. What's the odds??
Finally, I just realized that spyware blaster's screen is extremely similar to Oversight Technology....$18 down the toilet..

In my experiences with this company, all of which have been positive, I have to say I'm quite surprised with your review. You did not mention that whether you contacted support and what their response was to your problem. I personally have found this company's support to be top-notch. If you are unsatisfied with sentinel I suggest you contact the company, give them a chance to make it right or ask for a refund as their site does refer to a money back guarantee. In my experience when I feel that I wasted money on a product I always request a refund first and foremost after I contact their customer service and give them a chance to make it right. Just a few friendly ideas as I was very surprised that you did not make any mention of contacting support or customer service or requesting a refund.

I was very confused by your review of System Sentinel. I have used this product and did not encounter the errors you describe. I am certain that Oversight Technology never produced System Sentinel on CD. It therefore makes no sense to me that they would include code asking you to insert a CD. You mentioned multiple products in your review, maybe you are reviewing a different product by mistake?
My second issue is with your comparison of screen designs. I researched the product you mentioned and I don't see a similarity. I'm a big fan of System Sentinel's layout. The buttons are large and easy to read, a plus for someone like me who has bad eyesight. The layout is simple and clean. Oversight Technology doesn't try to confuse you or scare you with a lot of jibber jabber that you don't need. I like that.
