    "Registration problem Windows 7"

    April 27, 2010  |

    Version: Outlook Attachment Sniffer 4.1

    Pros

I've become quite dependent on this product. It works well.

    Cons

Except upgrading to Windows 7 it seems that the license doesn't work any more. There doesn't seem to be any response to queries about this.

"Works well, but perhaps I misunderstood what it does"

    January 25, 2010  |   By buchos400

    Version: Outlook Attachment Sniffer 4.1

    Pros

Good integration with outlook. Puts the attachment in a seperate folder and replaces it with a link. This makes the attachments much faster to open as its not drawing them off the server each time.

    Cons

My mailbox still went over its size limit and when searching through outlook with its cleanup wizard the attachments are still there! It stopped working a couple of times and had to be reinstalled (traylook may be conflicting with it).

    Summary

My reason for purchase was to stop going over my mailbox size limit so quickly so it has no real benefit if it just duplicates the attachment in another folder.

"no longer able to send emails with figures in the body"

    January 9, 2009  |   By natashajain2002

    Version: Outlook Attachment Sniffer 4.1

    Pros

I am not able to send emails after installing the product. So, not sure if there is anything good about it.

    Cons

After i installed this product, I am not able to send any email with the figures inserted into the message body. I tried contacting the support but no reply.

    Summary

There is no update on version since 2005 as I can see the reviews from 2005 for version 4.1 and it is still the same version in 2009. Not sure if this is anymore maintained by anyone. Waste of money. If someone know any other good product please let me know.

"Great app for import/export of Outlook emails"

    July 31, 2008  |   By kyle63

    Version: Outlook Attachment Sniffer 4.1

    Pros

Only app I could find that could rip a HUGE number of PST files and simply convert and organize them any way I wanted.

    Cons

The extractions menu should probably be simplified - I'm an advanced user and am not accustomed to reading help files to figure out how to set up "extract to" folder settings, etc.

    "Very nice"

    October 1, 2006  |   By pawelpa

    Version: Outlook Attachment Sniffer 4.1

    Pros

Gives a variety of options to save messages and attachments

    Cons

It will be nice if the attachment can be replaced with link to the file (in the body of the message) not with another attachment.

"Great product, would like to see a few enhancements"

    May 2, 2006  |   By brannose

    Version: Outlook Attachment Sniffer 4.1

    Pros

This is a terrific application for anyone who wants to automatically save emails to a specific Windows folder based on info in the subject line. I use it to scan incoming emails for specific words and then save a copy, complete with attachments, to a subject file corresponding to the filter subject.

The application works very reliably and is pretty fast. It filters all incoming Outlook mail looking for the specified matches. You can have multiple filters and it will compare the incoming subject line to each filter until it either finds a match or exhausts the list. The message then is received by Outook.

    Cons

My comments are more along the line of a wish list of enhancements rather than real cons. There are several things that could make the program easier to set up for users who are doing detailed filtering and saving copies of emails to many separate folders. It would be helpful to be able to assign default settings to the various fields that must be completed when setting up a filter. It also would be helpful to have a dropdown menu for choosing the destination file folder where you want to save matches. As it is now, you have to enter the path either manually or by cut and paste. The last thing is that it would be nice to have the option of filtering the entire email (subject line and body) for matches instead of just the subject line. This would slow performance but sometimes, at least in may case, the information that I need to look at does not appear in the subject line.

My last concern is that I have not been able to get the author to respond to any emails. But, the program still works beautifully and is unique as far as I can tell.
