From Ztekware:Create Virtual CD-ROM on your computer to emulate Audio CD, Data CD, Game CD from hard disk/network Virtual CD image. The Original CD Emulator will help you rip your own CDs to a hard disk or to network images, and to create a virtual CD-ROM on your computer to access those images. It works like a real CD-ROM: You can run programs, play games, or listen to music from your virtual CD-ROM. Original CD Emulator now can work as virtual CDRW drive, you can burn music file to virtual CDRW using TAO RAW format, support Window Media Player, and MusicMatch.

"Serious BUGS on Win XP -- Do Not Use"
Pros: This program used to perform the fake cd function. It should not be used on Windows XP anymore until fixed.
Cons: Installing this program causes Windows Explorer to hang and fail to completely open. Bug also interferes with most file opening operations on Windows XP SP2. Works for maybe an 30 minues, maybe 5 hours, seldom more than a day. Then this bug forces the user to power cycle or reset the PC.
After fully uninstalling OCDE (with Control Panel//Add or Remove Programs), installing another cd emulator, first try was Daemon ToolsPro Demo, worked fine.

Version: Original CD/CDRW/DVD Emulator 2.3
Pros: I purchased and use this product on a standalone computer running Windows XP Professional. I wanted to have a virtual drive that would function exactly as a physical hard drive. I tried other software available and found none that did what I wanted. This software fits the requirement.
Cons: The process of mounting a new disk in the virtual drive is straightforward but not intuitive.

Version: Original CD/CDRW/DVD Emulator 2.3
"works great, better than paragon"
Summary: Opened a 4.2GB ISO image of the MSDN Library DVD downloaded from Microsoft. Paragon failed on this ISO. Also, Paragon creates CD Image CDI, BWX, MWX files to open any ISO, Original opens ISO files natively.
