"made me switch from firefox"
Pros
Great interface - much better than the windows native interface
Never crashes Features like Speed dial, mouse gestures and wand are great.
I thought there would be more compatibility problems with it but so far I haven?t found any significant onesCons
Bookmarks seem harder to manage
Speed - it seems slower at loading pages for the first time than Firefox 3
Lack of extensibility - no proper add ons, widgets are a poor replacement
Only 9 speed dial cellsSummary
after using Firefox for ages, opera does have some annoyances that I would think might put off allot users but after using it for a while i prefer it to Firefox, mainly because of the interface, I hated the windows native interface of Firefox and IE and have not found an add on that beats the opera interface. one feature I use all the time is speed dial which is just a great start page to easily access the pages i view most the only problem with it is that you can only have 9 speed dial cells. I think it has only crashed once or twice which is much better than other browsers, Firefox and IE seems to crash all the time for me now.
if the wand feature is set this up with your information in the preferences it is very useful, I think a similar feature is available on Firefox but I have only ever used it on opera. You can insert email addresses and stuff just by selecting a textbox and pressing down on the keyboard or by right clicking and selecting it under insert personal.
Some features I have found it hard to start using regularly, such as mouse gestures but this is still a good feature to have.
I thought there would be more compatibility problems with this browser but so far the only significant one i have found is that ms silverlight doesn?t work with it, if you do find a site that looks wrong using opera you can easily open it in another browser from within opera just by right clicking and selecting "open with" and then the browser you want to open it with.
h" and then the browser you want to open it with.
